I guess this is one of those books that everyone loved but me.

I tried! I really tried to love this book. Then I tried to like this book. Then I just tried to finish this book. Unfortunately, Indy, the heroine, ruined the story for me.

I'm honestly at a loss trying to express my sheer annoyance, disapointment, and frankly, total embarrassment with Indy's character. Not only was she flat out nuts, had one too many TSTL (to stupid to live) moments, and was beyond wishy washy; but, she was a...more

Indy Savage had been crushing on Lee Nightingale since she was five years old, but time and time again she’d thrown herself at him only to be shot down. The final and most humiliating rebuff came ten years ago when Lee told Indy that she was like a sister to him, and from that time on Indy did all she could do to avoid him. But when Indy’s friend and employee, Rosie, becomes the target of some very bad guys, and Indy gets dragged into it, hard-ass, won’t-take-no-for-an-answer, private investigat...more

After finishing Ms. Ashley's Colorado Mountain series as well as Heaven and Hell I was impressed with the stories (even with the editing and some pretty convoluted sentences), so I decide to try Rock Chic series. I'm happy to say I'm not disappointed.

A couple reviewers compared the books to Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and I can see the similarities. We have a clueless heroine that's been dragged into the criminal world, a handsome, extremely dangerous guy who owns a security company...more

Pure. Freaking. Gold. LOVE LOVE LOVED this hilarious, romantic, action-packed book!!

This is probably the most all-out FUN book I've ever read! I mean, how can you not love a book about a smart, independent, sassy heroine and her Badass Extraordinaire hero getting together? huh? Its impossible not to I tell you. Impossible! :)

I cannot possibly gush enough. This book was BRILLIANT!! It had me flipping pages like mad, grinning endlessly and laughing and squeeing out-loud more times than I could...more

OK there are so many things I LOVED about this book.

Firstly:
The history between the characters in this book.
Indy and Liam (Lee) have know each other... forever. She's been in love with him since she was 5 years old (since he held her hand at her Mother's funeral).
Indy and Ally have been friends since birth (tried and true best friends- through thick n' thin), and I REALLY LOVED that Indy's Mom and Ally's Mom were also BFF's, that they made blood oaths, and that they planned (whe...more

Indy Savage lives in a world of her own, known as a rock chick she is loyal to the music, her sexy underwear, dressing as bad ass as she can, and constantly reminding herself that Liam "Lee' Nightingale is not interested, even if she swore to her best friend she would marry her brother Lee and they would become true sisters. Indy spent years in full pursuit of Lee, but when he finally told her he thought of her as a sister, she retreated now ten years later she is still avoiding him as much as s...more

3 ½ stars – Chick lit/Contemporary Romance/Romantic Suspense

I was initially worried that this might be too chick lit for my taste, but I figured I couldn’t go wrong with it being Kristen Ashley. Rock Chick is definitely a wild ride with a weird mix of self-indulgent, silly chick lit, zany mystery, wacky humor, movie style action, madcap suspense, and steamy romance that’s overall entertaining.

I especially liked enigmatic, badass alpha male Liam “Lee” Nightingale, but self-proclaimed rock chick...more

When Indy's employee Rosie tells her he has lost a bag of Diamonds her world quickly get's flipped upside down.

Finally went back to finish this book! I am still NOT an India Savage fan, but Liam Nightingale got me through. I just kept allowing the tingle to resonate when Lee's mouth is tight with jealousy over his crazy Indy's flirting, his walking around in the morning with nothing but sweats, his badass Hot Bunch Leader mode, etc. The sex was mildly steamy, but if it were hotter, I think I could have forgotten wanting to bash Indy upside the head consecutively.

Yet, flipside, as full of herself and as...more

3.5 Stars A funny, crazy read that kept me laughing. While I really liked the book, I needed more Lee & Indy together time.

Liam (Lee)Nightingale - A few of Indy's descriptions of Lee would be Badass Extraordinaire; Hunk of Burning Love. KA has done it again, another alpha hero that I love.

India (Indy) Savage - In spite of her TSTL moments, she kept me in stitches. This is one crazy Rock Chick with attitude. Loved her style and her music:)

Most definitely one of the funniest contemps I've rea...more

Hehe, this book made me laugh. I loved Indy and all her little Rock Chickism's. Loved Lee in his failing attempt to control her, it was just awesome, so many priceless moments.
sigh Liam "lee" Nightingale is a total hunky studmuffin.
This book like so many other Kristen Ashley books bring me so much joy and pleasure.
They also are sexy as hell with the most amazing alpha males I have ever read. (I love you Hawke!!!!)
I will definitely be consuming this series with gusto, much like her other series...more

3.5 stars. Meh.....Here I go......praying people don't curse me with my review. I liked this book...not even close to a top fave of KA books though. I've heard this is her first book so I will try to reserve judgment a bit for that reason alone. Rock Chick is Lee Nightengale's book. Lee has cameos in several other KA books so I was excited to hear his story. He's in love with longtime family and childhood friend Indy Savage. Indy is a hoot. Owner of a used bookstore, huge fan of all things rock...more

I loved this - it's absolutely hilarious and also deeply romantic.

It's the story of Indy and Lee. They've known each other all their lives, their family are close and spend lots of time together so their paths are inextricably linked. Indy has harboured a major league crush on Lee her whole life and made several passes at him until, when she was 16, he told her he thought of her as a little sister. She was crushed and spent pretty much the whole of the next decade avoiding him.

Lee went off, join...more

Another awesome series/book from Kristen Ashley. I have been seeing awesome things about this series forever, just have never got around to reading it. Since the moment I met Indy and Lee I have been hooked. Totally in love with this series so far.

Indy is one of my favorite heroines to date. She is hilarious, determined, doesn't take crap off of anyone, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She is awesome. Then there is the very mysterious Lee. Of course during the book we get lots of background...more

First off I just wanna say I have recently realized a) I kinda don't like doing reviews the formal way and b) I don't really have to because it's not like I am getting paid to do them.

So here goes....my motivations are purely selfish to recruit fellow readers into the wonderful world that lives in Kristen Ashley's head. Then once the...more

Ok, here's the thing, I've just started this book and have so far read 3 Kristen Ashley books , they've all been pretty good, but, they're all really, really similar. Her writing style tends to be too detailed and lengthy, aswell as the character descriptions, it's the same in every book. The heroine is always quite tall, curvaceous, has TH&A (Tit's hair and ass), she’s attractive, pretty confident and has a smart mouth (30ish). The Hero, tall, dark and handsome, uses country words (I have n...more

4 stars for a great, entertaining book...

5 big, hunky stars for my favorite KA hero yet!!!
I loved Lee! In my opinion, he is the tamest of the alpha males, so far. And that's probably why I love him so. Don't get me wrong...apparently I love a good alpha-male, but I like them to be respectful, too and Lee was more respectful than the others I have read. He loved Indy for who she was (mostly annoying and totally stubborn...) and he acknowledged that she was the pe...more

I really enjoyed this one. I had a friend buggin me like crazy to get on it. I was laughing so much throughout the whole book! From life-time crushes, kidnapping, car chases....and one crazy man that looks like a serial killer but is actually a big teddy bear...with a few screws loose.

The feel of the book had me almost comparing Rock Chick to One for the Money and when I realized that I didn't get too excited. I could never really get into One for the Money and gave up on the series I believe b...more

Can't go wrong with a Kristen Ashley book!!.. A little dragged on(felt like the book could have ended by chapter 20) but it was a fun read! I loved the chemistry and passion of Indy and Lee! Seriously I found myself swooning, laughing, sweating! I didn't expect to enjoy it this much! As a kick off to the rock chick series... I was not disappointed! Onto book 2 in the series now!

I think I should have started with this Rock Chick series by Kristen Ashley before I read any of her other works. This, for me, was very tame. After reading some of her more recent books, like, Breathe, for example, this just didn't really hold up for me.

However, besides the lack of sexy timez, I did like it. The premise is cool, her heroines are seemingly strong-willed and independent but then they kinda fall into the whole "do what the Hero says" trope because they are big manly men who know...more

4 & 1/2 stars. LOVED this book. Hysterical, super fun, hot alpha male, and the sassiest KA heroine I've come across so far. I resisted with starting this series But I'm so glad I didn't fight it too hard, because I just really loved it.

The supporting characters are a hoot & honestly, Tex might be my 2nd favorite behind only Elvira. But this story is about Indy & the infamous (to any KA reader) Lee Nightingale. Indy is wild and amazing and so damn funny it's unbelievable. Lee is almo...more

I'll get the review done after getting a good night sleep. I so need it to stop my eyes and head from hurting. :/

Whoa. Okay. First, Rock Chick was recommended to me by Dan(so she's the one I put on the who rec it to you box), I said I'll read it some time later... Then last Sunday, I think, Glam asked me to join their (Dan and her) re-read of Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley. I said YES. BUT all of them was like, "Read Rock Chick first. You'll like it better." so again, I said OKAY. Then started t...more

I actually picked this up in order to try and get over my obsession with another of Ashley's Alphas - Mitch Lawson from Law Man (part of the Dream Man series). Sadly it didn't work, and just added another man to my book harem. *sigh*

UPDATE - RE-READ IN JUNE 2012

This is another strong story by Kristen Ashley. Surprisingly, some of the antics reminded me a lot of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. The antics were funny, but fell short of Stephanie Plum, laugh out loud, tears rolling down your cheeks funny. Because of that, I only gave 3 stars to this book. At some point, when I've read everything else that Kristen Ashley has written, I may give this series another try. But for now, I'm content to simply re-read one of her other novels.

I would really like to know, why authors think they need to write a 400-some page book, when they would have writen a perfectly fine 200-some page book? Seriously? This is not the only book where I find my self thinking that.
I was perfectly happy and entertained by the 50% mark. And it wasn't like nothing had happened. A TON had happened already! But it was fast paced, funny, entertaining, etc. Yes, it had not been perfect either. There was repetition and some douche moves from Lee that pissed m...more

I really liked this book! Ally, Indy, Tex, and Tod had me LOLing! This series seems a bit lighter than the other Kristen Ashley books I've read. The language was not quite as coarse and not quite as steamy, but so enjoyable. Indy was super spunky and always in trouble and Lee was sexy and alpha. Not as alpha as I've seen from Kristen, but definitely all man.

So excited to start the next book in this series!
