I had, perhaps, unrealistically high hopes for this graphic novel after the mammoth success with my kid that was I am Pusheen the Cat, but, sadly, we are back to where we started with my reluctant reader. She wouldn't even open Simon's Cat. The graphic novels are alike in that both feature kitties, but their approach is very different. Pusheen is about how cute and colorful Pusheen is. Simon's Cat is more about the cat's behavior and interaction with his human. Pusheen had a few words in it. Sim ...more

Being a huge fan of the Simon's Cat videos that are posted on youtube, I had to see if this book was just as good. It was FUNNY... but... I did love the videos so much more. Still worth taking a look at though. :)

I've been a massive fan of the Simon's Cat videos on YouTube for several years now so when I found out a book was being released last yearit was the top of my Christmas list & I was very excited to receive a copy from my friend. This is a book I've dipped in and out of regularly throughout the year & it always managesto make me laugh, evenif I'm having a bad day. Simon Tofield has perfectly captured the mischievous nature of every cat I've ever known and nearly all of the antics his cat ...more

This is apparently based on some popular YouTube videos of the same name. I've never heard of it, but since I almost never go to YouTube, that's not saying much. Still, I saw the title on the Goodreads giveaways list and decided to enter to win a free book. I have a cat, and who doesn't love a good cartoon about cats? I was lucky enough to win a copy.

This was cute. I think every cat owner will recognize their cat in these pages. The way he's always begging for food, plotting to catch the local w

P ...more

I am not sure if it is because I am owned by two cats that I am in love with Simon’s Cat by Simon Tofield. I had actually never seen the You Tube animations but after reading the entire book yesterday and giggling, nodding my head in agreement, falling out of my chair, wiping tears of laughter and recovering from that stiffness you get in your cheeks due to smiling so much, I jumped on the computer and started the laugh-fest all over again. This is such a happy-hearted, joyous book and the autho ...more

I think we love Simon's Cat, because his observation on cats are so close to reality. Even though the way to interpret the cats in his videos have changed during time, it's still so lovely to experience his views on cats while we witness ours at home.

The drawings in this book are basically like the videos, but the book doesn't give the same taste. It lacks the small yet important details in cats' behaviours. Still, how can someone not like the Simon's Cat?

It's a funny series of cartoons about the cat that belongs to Simon. Hence Simon's Cat. Based on the successful series of YouTube cartoons this book attempts to extend that success to print. Sadly, while funny, it's not quite on a par with the short film versions. Those really are hilarious, these are 'only' pretty funny...

I think we've gotten to the point where we're all pretty comfortable (or at least familiar) with the idea of the webcomic that is later turned into a book. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is the most famous example of this, but it happens all the time. A webcomic becomes popular, and inevitably there's a print edition. Far rarer is the webvideo that makes the successful leap from short film to paper. Over the years the Simon's Cat web series has garnered millions of fans. So obviously, a book was going to ...more

“Simon’s Cat”
By Simon Tofield

WOW! I don’t even know where to start. First, this book came to me by mail and I forgot that I promised to review the book, so I was confused where the book came from. The book arrived on a gloomy Saturday morning that I wasn’t feeling to well. This is the best surprise ever!

Simon’s Cat isn’t per say a “word” book, and maybe some knew that and knew what to expect. I opened it up standing in the kitchen and didn’t stop laughing until I finished the book in 15 mi
I really didn't know what to expect with Simon's Cat. It was on the best sellers under "Comics & Graphic Novels" on Amazon, so I wanted to give it a go; as it seemed, at the very least, cute and silly. Apparently, Simon's Cat has a YouTube channel, he's a pretty popular cat.

Anyway, I requested it at my local library...I had to wait a while, the cat seems to be rather appealing to all ages and had quite the queue. Well, I was having a bit of a bad day, I turned to Simon's Cat to cheer me up,

Liam and I used to watch Simon's Cat on Youtube....and burst into fits of giggles. If you haven't seen them.....stop reading this review and pop over there. For a small toddler and a grouchy aunt, those videos were the perfect distraction from stupid video games and playing blocks. Two weeks ago when I took Liam to The Book Thing he found the book on his own and proudly showed it to me....once home he pulled it out and started giggling on the couch alone. After a week of seeing the book about th ...more

Fans of Simon Tofield's videos of Simon's Cat will love this book that comes out on September 24, 2009. The book, Simon's Cat, captures the lightheartedness and humor of the escapades of the video shorts. The graphics are simple but enchanting.

A sure hit with cat lovers, even those of us without pets are sure to enjoy the playful stories and naughty tricks that Simon plays on the family dog, neighborhood birds, and his "master." I particularly like the frame with the cat and the frozen birdbath
Cute book and if you are a cat lover I bet you can really relate to those situations. I'm not a catowner but I love the illustrations and the many hilarious moments that Simon's cat got himself into. Although there were some illustrations that I didn't understand the meaning behind the picture, but it was an enjoyable book.

And those youtube videos were really cute! If you are interested, here's the link to Simon's youtube channel: Simon's cat

Cats in a nutshell... and then some. :)
EN: Simon's Cat is wonderfully horrible! I have seen the animations before and only now got my hand on the first book. Granted, I have leafed through parts of it before, but this is the first time I read it through.

This read was definitely not a disappointment: Simon's cat is as catishly crazy in the book as it has been in the animations. The book of course offers readers much more stories, but the variation in the stories is also greater. They are different length, some just one picture long an
