Frightening story of the author's experience with the justice system and his inabilty to receive a fair trial. He goes on to detail the horrors of Sheriff Joe's Tent City.

The book makes one re-elvauate their own stereotypes of people who end up in jail and the people who put them there.
This book had a lot of interesting insights into our penal system but I'm afraid that the author had a huge axe to grind (understandably). Regardless of what my personal views are on Arpaio & Thomas, it would have been nice to have more supporting information concerning his allegations against them, especially Thomas. It seemed to me, too much hearsay without support. A straight narrative of his experiences with the system would have been preferable and let me make my own judgements.
