karen brissette
i briefly skimmed through one of karen's reviews where she was apparently brought up in an anti-pooh household. i like pooh (heh). this book was given to me by my eldest sister, who got it as a present from my grandmother. i devoured the words, even when i couldn't understand them i was fascinated by milne's writing. especially "sneezles". karen should read this book. she might not like it- it helps if you're 7 or 8 years old. ask connor to help get you in character.

As a kid, I knew this book was part of Milne's Pooh series. It came with the other books, like the others it has pictures of Pooh, Piglet and Chrisopher Robin on the cover, yet ... I can't say it's a book I retained a clear memory of. Turns out, it's poetry.
Some of the poems are quite good in a clever and didactic way ("The Old Sailor"). Others are clever and weird in a Lewis Carroll way ("Sneezles"). And the rest ... are not too much better than what you'd get f...more

Not as good as his first book of poetry, When We Very Young, but it was fun reading to the kids. I liked The End the best of the poems.

I love this book! It's not exactly a story book though, it's full of poems. There are some very nice ones in there though!

My copy was my grandfather's. it's from 1927. He wrote his name in it in crayon.

I went back to re-read this book after I read Now We Are Sixty by Christopher Matthew.

I've read this, and am now re-reading and loving the whimsical poetry by A.A. Milne.

So great. I wish I could talk the way he writes all the time.

I read it today because it is my favorite book as a kid (i carried it with me everywhere until it fell apart), it is the familiar...to me, this book made Christopher Robin seem relatable, like a kid I might know...I wanted to be Anne in "Buttercup Days" - I still do.

In the process of memorising Sneezles... I love the twist at the end.
Forgiven reminded me of a insect catching kit I had as a child - and that then reminded me of fireflies - ahhh... good times... I liked the rythmn of the poem.
