Excellent, painstakingly detailed examination of a cultural phenomenon through two decades of popular entertainment. Michael Hayde pretty much tells readers everything they might want to know about the Superman radio and television programs of the 1940s and 50s. I know an awful lot about this subject, and I was constantly surprised by new information. If the topic is of even marginal interest to you, this book is a must-read.
