Way too short to make this one really work- Wolfe came off too harsh and unreasonable- BUT I love what I see of these two later on in the books ...
I’m hoping LL will revamp and expand. Though only $2.99 from EC, it’s too short by far.

For the record, I'm a Lora Leigh fan and love the Breed series. Sadly, I had just finished Tanner's Scheme (Breed's 9) earlier today and found it a disappointing read. So I picked up Wolfe's Hope (Breed's 10) thinking that perhaps Leigh would redeem herself. But no. To be sure, I thought that Wolfe's Hope had the potential to be a really good short story but, in the end, it fell flat for me.

This is the first Breed book that I read oh so many years ago. At the time it was the only Breed book available. I remember being hooked and waiting for the next one. I was so intrigued by with the whole concept of the Breeds and wanted to know more about them. This story provides very little information on the Breeds or the Council. It is a short story after all. I would like to see more of Wolfe in the later books and maybe that will happen since he is part of the Breed Council. I also hope to...more
I wish I never read that. Seriously, what was that?
The previous reviews explain very well my point of view.
It was like the other books, but condensated. The problem is: doing that with only 41 pages ends up with a failure. The result of whatever the author tried to do is: a non logical story, non charismatic and ridiculous characters, a really strange sex scene (between rape, torture and consent), a too easy evil end, a WAY TOO EASY scene of forgiveness dripping with love.

I love all the breed books, i think this one about Wolfs Hope should have started from the very beginning. It should also be in a book by itself, it deserves that much more than a short story in an anthology. I just wanted to express my opinion, I Really have to be Lora Leighs biggest fan, have all of her books except #2 and #3 in The Lies Men Series. I have been going crazy looking for them, and if there only in e book then I'm screwed because I can"t afford an e reader.

This is an introductory short story to the Wolf Breeds series in "The Breeds" continuum. Detailing the mating and troubles between Wolfe and Hope, daughter of the scientist who created Wolfe, and a sadistic, cold, unfeeling human being through and through. My greatest criticism is that it is a short story. These characters are strong and had a right to be full developed and given their own story that is more than just a few pages long. However, like all Leigh books, it is a great read and filled...more
This is one of Lora Leigh's early entries in her Breeds series, a short story published with Ellora's Cave. In the years since, the series has moved to mainstream publisher Berkley, and she has significantly expanded the world she has created.
I'm one of those people who really likes to read a series in order. This can become quite a stress when publication order and chronological order differ and I have to choose one or the other to follow. In this case, I'm working with the series chronology pr...more

This novella is part of the anthology PRIMAL HEAT which has a collection of stories by Sherri L. King, Lorie O'Clare, Jaci Burton and Lora Leigh.
Wolfe's Hope is about literally Wolfe and his mate Hope. Apparently they mated six years ago and he had allegedly dies in a fire. Hope is rather hopeless because her mom is the evil villain in the story. Anyway it is a really short read there is not really anything added to the overall plot nor is there a lot of character development. Mostly it is a sme...more

I’ve only read one book by author Lora Leigh. It was called Menage A Magick and I picked it up because of the catchy blurbage that delivered on the promise of the heroine being “the filling in a wizard sandwich”. Tell me, could you have resisted?

Anyway it was okay, nothing special, nothing awful so I decided to try this one when it turned up in audiobook format. I’ll read anything on audio and I mistakenly thought this was Book 1 in the Wolf Breeds series...more

"Wolfe's Hope" by Lora Leigh is a short story in the Breeds series that was very informative and erotic with just a touch of violence.
This is the backstory for Wolfe, the Wolf Breed leader of a pack that escaped a Genetics Council lab the same time the Feline Breeds revealed themselves to the world, and his mate Hope, the daughter of one of the scientists that ran the Breeds lab.

This book took me all of two seconds to read. I'm not exactly why Lora Leigh wrote this novella in the first place. We got no insight into the characters, no further development into the world of the breeds and other than a quick schtup it was pretty much a wast of time. I have been a fan of these books however I am hopeful that the next few books in this series will get better otherwise I might just give up on the breeds.
Well wow This is one of the few book in this series that I had not read before and all I can say is WOW!!. It is hot and just keeps getting hotter. It is only a short story but as an introduction to the Wolf breeds it is blooming good. This is like a little taster of what is to come and one that will have you coming back for more and more and more.

I promise that the low rating is not due to this being such a short story, though I would have appreciated at least a novella length allowance for more depth of the characters. The setup was great, as a way to introduce the wolf breeds. But what Wolfe does to Hope did not sit well with me. How Hope instantly forgives Wolfe sat even worse. Maybe I should be happy this was not longer.
Next to Laurell Hamilton, Lora Leigh is my favorite author. I especially love her "breed" series. This is more of a novella than a full size book. It appears to be one of her earlier works. I enjoyed it a lot. It's on my Kindle now. I have pretty much the whole series now and reread them often. good stories. great erotic sex scenes. not for teens. too explicit.

Short, quick read with a continuation of the Breed series. Wolfe is being held captive and tortured by Hope's mother. Hope's mother has no love for her and just wants her to breed with Wolfe so she can experiment any offspring created. Then an explosion at the lab leads Hope to believe that Wolfe is dead. He comes back believing that Hope has betrayed him.
This was not one of Ms. Leigh's finest works. The story line was okay, but really what women after being tied to a bed and sexually tortured would be so happy and forgiving when finally let free. Hope was a spineless child, and wolfe was hateful and abusive. I wouldn't even recommend a read to keep the series in line, just not worth it.
LL managed to stage a kidnapping, torture, sex and murder in 42 pages. Wolfe is in search of a confession from the girl he loves. He believes he has been betrayed. So he tortures his lover for information....tortures her with depraved sex that is. And that makes for some hot reading!
Wolfe and Hope....... Was a little disappointed with this one..There's no real story, no character development. It's just sex.
If you're reading the Breeds series and enjoying the characters and the Breeds' struggles to be accepted as being as much people as normal humans, give this one a miss. It doesn't have any of that at all.

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared. Lora’s family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in...more
