You have got to be shitting me. That was the all time lousiest ending ever written in a romance novel. There I was happily reading along about an ass hat hero who treated the heroine like dirt and worse than dirt. Knowing that he was going to fall in love with her and there would be some nice I love you's and please don't leave me's. But WTF? Could someone please write a real ending for this book? Oh my gosh this book is so horrible it needs to be recategorized under horror stories.

This is just 150 pages of an extremely abusive marriage, with a father who eagerly sacrifices his daughter to obtain a higher social standing in his small English community. The heroine is so frightened of her situation, having been blackmailed into marriage not only by her father, but her husband, that she walks around the entire time with her eyes downcast seeking ways to avoid the hero. Makes me want to jab my eyeballs out with an ice pick or remove my skin with a vegetable peeler to distract from the pain for even bothering with this after reading the reviews, but I was curious. I think I need a lobotomy after this, truly terrible and worthless.

The hardest pill to swallow in this story is the age difference depicted in the front photo. I didn't find him that much older in the story but the front photo has him looking like her Grandfather. Not a bad story, it held my interest. The arranged married idea modernized added some humor to it.
