An engaging story of Wright's childhood and her fight to survive in and later leave the poor hill country where she was raised with her large family. This story is further made interesting by the location of the story, which is near my town and in the same Ozark hills. I could hardly put this one down; I'm so glad I discovered it at my local library! :D
