This book was written for teenage girls....but that said, as an adult, I found it highly entertaining. Written in a prose looking style, with minimal words, the author has no trouble getting her thoughts and emotions out. It's about an innocent teenager who finds herself in a world of drugs. Being a teenager ,she is easily influenced and quickly addicted. Her alter ego takes over and things quickly spiral out of control. it's a quick read, i read the entire book in a matter of hours, and its ove...more

crank is about a girl who was living with her mom and went with her dad for the summer. she had two personalitys, one of her sides was bree and the ohter was christine. when she went with her dad for the summer, she met a guy who got her hooked on crack. she began to really like him but his heart was still liking someone else. She was only a young girl in her preteens. she started getting a tatoo, she got it by him and it got infected. her mom found out after she got home......

These two books are heartbreaking. Kristina's voice is completely authentic. Ellen Hopkins is brilliant...her words will crawl up under your skin and stick in your heart. Kristina's horrifying first-person narrative of her meth addiction and all of its consequences will stay with you long after you have finished reading the books. I highly recommend the audio version of these books; Laura Flanagan is the perfect narrator.

TEEN book. I read Crank on the plane to or from Europe. Very good. Quite informative on meth addiction and how it impacts our society. The author based the story loosely on her daughter's experience with the drug. It sounds like meth is highly addictive and changes the behavior and personality of the user in a big way. I see why this book is so popular in our school library.

These books are amazing! I love her writing style and I love the way she outs so much emiton into them. I did not realize until after I had read them all, that they were about about her daughter. I feel so sorry that she had to go through that but i liove her way of coping with it all. Ellen Hopkins is an amazing writer and a fatastic person.

I loved both of the books. I felt sympathy for Kristina(Bree). Ellen Hopkins really took me on an adventure. I was instantly captured in "Crank" by a mystery scene about an airplane and a girl talking about her father. Also I loved how Ellen Hopkins added "Bree" into the story along the whole way. Both books are a MUST READ!!

I had seen these books before, they had seemed interesting. So I picked up the first one, and read it. It was really good, and it spoke to me. You know how many people die from things like that? I haven't even started Glass uet, but I know I'll like it.

This book has a beautiful style of writing, while it covers a not-so-beautiful topic of drug abuse. This book made my heart hurt everytime the main character made a wrong decision. It was heart-wrenching and hard to read but I couldn't stop.

this book was fantastic i was scared for her even if it wasnt based on real life. I cant imagen myself going through what she had gone through ; i learned a lesson. Dont ever let yourself get lost in life.
Monica
Offers really great insight into addictio tough to read because its so real... right at the heart of so many I've lost to drug abuse.
Ellen Hopkins knows what she's writing about, and she is spot on.
Josh Root
I really liked this book because it showed how Kristina's never gave up on her, and they helped her along the way during her crises. It really shows how some parents will NEVER give up on their children.

I love Crank, but I feel like Glass is just a repeat... I didn't care for it nearly as much. But I only read about a third of the book because I got bored...
Megan Paul
Not a hard read whatsoever, but it's sad and inspiring and nice to know the author is giving you a piece of her heart with this story.

Why would it cost three times as much to buy this book on my kindle than to buy the double box set for my classroom?
Molly
Technically only read Crank as of yet, but there isn't an option to add just the first. Will review later.
