This is the fourth of the Frog Princess books, a series that began with The Frog Princess, one of many modern-day fairy tale retellings I've read in the past few years. This wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was a good addition nonetheless.

In this portion of the story, almost all is right in Emma's world. She's got her true love, she's ended the family curse, and all that remains is to win over Eadric's parents so they may be married. With this in mind, the happy couple sets off to Eadric...more

Book four in the series, Emma is ready to marry Prince Eadric, but her mother in law to be has other ideas. she hates magic and therefore disapproves of Emma, determined to make it work Emma and Eadric travels to Upper Montevista to ask for their blessing, but when they get there Bradston has been Kidnapped. Emma and Eadric embark on a mission to bring him back, journeying deep into the troll kingdom is dangerous, but now Emma can't use her magic for fear of a trace, things just keep getting wor...more

The story, No Place for Magic, is an echanting fairy tale. This book is the fourth in the series of the Frog Princess. Princess Emma has finally mastered her magic, but she soon discovers that she cannot always rely on it. When taking a visit to the parents of her soon-to-be wed (Eadric), she enters in a new quest, in which her magic cannot be used. This tale tells of the young couple, who have great determination, strong courage, and an even greater love for each other.

This has been one of th...more

Tales of the Frog Princess, book 4.

Emma and Eadric are ready to get married, but first they have to get his parents' approval. Eadric's mother does not approve of magic. She hates it so much that she won't even allow Emma to help rescue her younger son, Bardston, who has been kidnapped by trolls. THis is probably the weakest link in the series, but it was still funny enough to keep me reading. I just love Emma. She is a great character.

Emma is determined to get Eadric's parents to give their blessing for the wedding between the two, but she doesn't understand their dislike of all things magical--especially witches. When Emma and Eadric get to his parents' castle they learn that Eadric's bratty little brother has been taken by the troll queen. Emma knows this is her opportunity to show Eadric's parents just what magic can really do, as she saves their son. But when Emma finds that the trolls can track her when she uses magic th...more

I actually ended up liking this much better than I thought I would. Emma wants the approval of Eadric's parents before they marry, but his folks are not too keen on the idea of having a witch in the family. But when Eadric's little brother disappears, Emma and Eadric undertake the task of finding him. The hitch is that Emma can't use her magic. Will they be able to find Prince Bradston using simply their wits? The twist of having Emma unable to use her magic actually proved quite interesting and...more

this is one spectacular book. in this book, emma traveled to eadric's kingdom for their wedding but before that, she and eadric had to rescue eadric's brother. fighting with trolls, encountering cockatrice-i think that's how you spell it, but not sure- and many more. this book is the last book about emma and eadric, the next book will be about their child. i was sad that there won't be more adventures with emma and eadric but i guess reading about someone too much would make it boring. i recomme...more

haha, well this is like one of the cornier books i've read..but its not too shabby :)
i'll admit the frog princess is so much more adorable, but this is alright
its just that emeralda and whats-his-name keep...kissing in like every other chapter -_____-"""
it gets extremely frustrating
i love Li'l, the bat, cause she's soooo cutteee >:3
but i get pissed off at the main characters cause
1. Whats-his-face is like sexist...thinking that emeralda can't protect herself
2. emeralda is waaaay to self-consc...more

Even though I LOVE all of them, this one is clearly my favorite. In this one Emma and Eadric are ready to get married (like, finnaly!) but Eadrics country isn't as comfortable with magic as Greater Greensward. The problem isn't about convincing the king and queen about magic, it's about saving Eadrics little brothe Bradston, from the trolls. i reccomend this book to 10+. (quite a lot of kissing) My favorite part was the ending. It was so sweet and romantic, and if you read it you know what I mea...more

Book 4 in Tales of the Frog Princess. Emma finally gets to marry her frog, er Prince, since he's a frog no longer. First they have to battle trolls, a sea monster, other magical creatures, and the hardest of all, Eadric's parents. Disapproving of magic, they don't like Emma at all until she plays an intregal part in rescueing their youngest son from the troll queen.

I didn't think this one was as good as the first 3 books, but the story was entertaining enough.

Emma and Eadric's wedding is on it's way. But first they travel to Eadric's home kingdom to obtain his parents' consent. The parents aren't as happy as you might imagine, soon to have a witch in the family. Eadric's mother refuses to let Emma use magic in her kingdom, hence the title. When Eadric's bratty younger brother, Bradston, is taken by trolls, Emma and Eadric set out on a rescue mission. Not the best in the Frog Princess series but still good.

Emma is the green witch ,her family curse is broken .............What else can she ask for ?
Well i guess she never imagined rescuing her prince's little brother!

Whwen edric's brother is kidnapped by trolls he asks Emma for her magical help. What the never expected was that emma would not be able to use her magic or else the trolls would know what was coming.

So heres Emma in a problem she never expected to occure .What else can happen?

In the previous book, Emma managed to lift the curse that turned her grandmother and aunt into horrible people if they were touched by a flower. Now, she is preparing to marry Prince Eadric but his parents don't seem to be too thrilled with the marriage arrangement. They return to find that Eadric's brother Bradston has been kidnapped by trolls but Eadric's parents aren't too thrilled about Emma using magic to free him.

Ryan's review: I loved it and it was amazing. What I liked best about it was Eadric and Emma got married.
Mom's comments: I would give it 4 stars. Scarier/creepier fantasy creatures (trolls, etc.) than other books in the series. Great illustrations of partnership and things important in marriage. Also loyalty, bravery and keeping your word even when you want to give up.

This book was definitely different from the previous ones. I guess that's what comes after the main character gets so powerful. Now, apparently the author noticed this, too, for the underlying theme of the book is that she has to try doing things without magic, instead of relying on it all the time. It's an apt title.

I am currently rereading this series - one of my favourites! My baby is almost 4 months old and I am still very sensitive (read hormonal) and keep starting books and putting them aside when they get too disturbing. I am left with very little to read so I have returned to a safe favourite. There is a great deal of comfort in the known:)

I am near the beginning of the book and while many scenes are familiar, many have been completely forgotten. For example, I had totally forgotten Eadric's parents...more

This book is up there with the Frog Princess, while I wasn't thrilled with the other books in the series, I apreciated the attempt at a *lack of magic*. It came through with the genuine Emmma we originally met, and doesn't transform every problem into a little something magic can fix.

Book 4 in the Princess and the Frog series. Emma and Eadric want to get married, but Eadric's brother gets kidnapped and his parents hate Emma! They must save Bradston the little brother and find a way for everyone to get along! Another great addition to the series!

this is the last book with Emma in it. Emma and Edric want to get married but Emma wants to be aprooved by Edrics magic hating parents when they arive they are in formed that Edric's nasty little brother had bin kidnapped! But using magic endagers the rescue.

When Princess Emma goes out to visit Eadric's parents in the fair mountain spotted land of Upper Montivista and finds that Eadric's brother Bradston has been kidnapped she's a little suprised. Even though she has already battled large armys, ventured into the lair's of dragons, stoolen a pearl from a sea monster, and traveled back in time, trolls are a little new to her, especialy if they can track her and know where she is if all times. But even if she has to sacrifice herself, she must rescue...more

Great book! Just like the others, this is sweet, funny, exciting, and magical. Love Emma and Eadric and the other wonderful characters! Love the sweet fairy-tale romance and **SPOILER** happy endings for all (except Jorge--ha, ha!)!

I'll be reading more books in this series.

No Place for Magic was a great book. I enjoy this series greatly. Trolls always add an interesting aspect to a story. I love to see the way authors portray different mythological creatures in different books. The romance was endearing and it was a fun read.

Wonderful book. I really liked it. I would just recommend to start from the beginning of the series to get a good introduction. I can wait, but I can't wait to start the number 5 book of the series!

Light, fluffy fun for the 10-14 age group, with lots of great fantasy creatures, sweet romance, and milder family drama. Nothing gloomy or heavy here (and that's the way I like it).

This time Eadric's bratty little brother has been wandering and got caught by trolls. He and Emma have to go save him without using magic.
At the end they finally get married.

Princess Emma of Greater Greensward is headed for Upper Montevista, where she aims to get Prince Edward's parents' blessing so they can get married. When they get there, Edward's little brother, Bradston, is missing! Edward's mother won't let Emma use magic to find Bradston, even though it's a potentially life-or-death situation. So Emma and Edward set off to find Bradston the way people usually do: without magic.

Emma and Edward are not exactly real-world, but they're funny; and this really is...more

“The tinkle of wind chimes announcing the return of our fairy guests made us both look up. Our chance to be alone was going to be shorter than either of us had hoped.
I sighed and brushed an errant dragon scale from Eadric’s tunic. “Someday when we have lots of time, remind me to tell you what you mean to me.”
Eadric tilted my head back so he could gaze into my eyes. “I can tell you what you mean to me with just one word.”
Let me guess,” I said, smiling up at him. “Maybe I make you happy because you no longer have to enter kissing contests to find the best kisser? Do I bring excitement into your life because I can wisk you away to exotic lands on my magic carpet? Or do you find me delightful because I can conjure food whenever you’re hungry?”
No, that’s not. . . Wait, what was that last one?”
I laughed and shook my head. “Never mind. So tell me in one word, what do I mean to you?”
That’s easy,” said Eadric. “Everything!”
