I think that people who love fairy tales read this because it is very mythical.
A boy with many brothers gets a golden goose from an old man and the boy decided to stay in the inn not far away. While he was sleeping, many people tried to steal it. When they touched it, they got stuck to it, and when someone touched the person they stuck to the person. It goes on and on.Then the boy goes to town and while he passes he runs into a king and he told him that his daughter has never laughed in her li
A woman had three sons; the first two were talented but selfish and didn't succeed. The third was not talented but he was kind and ended up far exceeding the success of his brothers.

The story was a good one and was quite amazing to imagine lots of people all stuck to each other and trying not to stand on each other's feet.
The boy Simpleton, does more with his act of kindness, than any one who had a different agenda...and in the end he came off the winner.
I found this is a little more hard to enjoy as it was one of the more eccentric fairy-tales.

For sharing his food with the old man(unlike his brothers), he his given a golden goose. One day he decides to stay at an inn not too far away from home. While he's sleeping siters try to steal the goose, but end up getting stuck to it. When one of the sisters would try to help they would just get stuck to the person. Because of all the greed, this continued on and on and on untill there was a long line of people stuck together.

I liked this book and thought it had a good moral to it.

shulevitz's amazing illustrations suit the story so well
Sweet fairy tale gently showing the rewards that come from showing kindness. The illustrations are the best part of the book; they show much more than is ever mentioned in the text.

Dummling the youngest of his other two brothers goes into the woods to cut down the tree, as the other brothers failed to do that before him..
Silly story, that while well written, I failed to see the point. Why did everyone get stuck together?
I liked this book because there was a golden goose and I like the illustrations.
I prefer Dennis McDermott's version for both the story and the illustrations.
Beautiful and captivating illustrations. Sweet story.
