This book deserves more then the usually rating! 5++ STARS!

What an intriguing story!

As per usual there's a phenomenal story to every book Christy Reece writes. This novel had me in an allure and turning every page. In the two previous books, I became attached to a character. McKenna Sloan aka Ghost.

With Mckenna's dark persona, I just knew there was something dreadful that had happened in her past; and why she became the way she is.She's very secluded, doesn't make friends, keeps to herself and...more

If you need a good romance this is the book to choose. You can't help but to fall in love with both the main characters. You will also get your sizzling hot romance, suspence, and emotions pulled to a great ending! It was a keeper for me and a hope that the writer will keep the books coming!

Last Chance by Christy Reece
(Last Chance Rescue #6)

There are certain things I have come to expect when picking up a Christy Reece novel. One, I’m going to get a great story full of suspense or mystery, and great characters with tortured pasts and swoon worthy heroes . Reece does not disappoint, in fact this is arguably (with myself) the best installment in the series so far. Not since Eden St. Claire from Rescue Me has there been a more awesome heroine in this series.

The elusive McKenna Sloan h...more

Just finished Christy Reece's latest book in the LCR series. The best one yet!! I intend to write a glowing review when I have time to get my thoughts and feelings in order. Amazing though - you don't want to miss this one!

I have been the hugest fan of LCR since I won my 1st book in one of Christy's competitions and I am a forever fan.
Out of all of the LCR books this is my favourite for 2 reasons:-

1. I absolutly love the characters, they come alive on the page and I love their chemistry and...
2. Because my name is in the back of the book - :-) Oh yeah!
This book takes pride and place on my bookshelf and NO-One is allowed to touch it! lol

Sixth in the Last Chance Rescue romantic suspense series revolving around the employees of Last Chance Rescue (LCR), an organization that is the last chance to get back loved ones. The couple focus is on Lucas Kane and McKenna, the Ghost.

My Take
What is it with psychopaths like Damon?? Reece writes so credibly about his character and his motivations...and I don't get it. Intellectually, yes. I understand that people like him do exist. Is there any chance a test could be developed to weed people l...more

4.5 stars--At the urging of fellow GR Reader Shawna, I picked up this book because it's a prequel of sorts to the 8th book, Sweet Revenge> that comes out next month. I'm reading this series out of order, and that doesn't really bother me. I've never been an order purist. And I think these stories can stand firmly on their own.

Last Chance is the story of McKenna Sloan, who at the age of seventeen watched her psycho boyfriend, Damon, murder her parents and little sister, was kidnapped by afore

The third in the series by Christy Reece, Last Chance is an action packed romance and will truly take you on a ride.

McKenna is " The Ghost" and agent who works alone, but sometimes tags along and take missions from an agency called Last Chance Rescue.
This is where she runs into rich businessman Lucas Kane. He has been kidnapped from his hotel room and when she finds him he is in some serious bad shape. Thing is Lucas is hiding something, he is no ordinary spoiled rich boy businessman who has be...more

Review by C.M. Lessard for RomanceNovelNews.com

British Billionaire Lucas Kane is more than just a successful businessman. He’s a skilled assassin, at least he was until his father’s death made him change careers and focus on the family business.

But when he is kidnapped from his hotel and held for ransom in South America, it’s a young blond beauty named McKenna Sloan who saves him. Known as the Ghost, she disappears without a trace. Unable to put the mysterious woman out of his mind, Lucas utiliz...more

Christy Reece's "Last Chance" was filled with suspense, danger, and romance. Reece does a good job building the romantic tension between the two main characters without rushing straight into the Big L word, LOVE. The dialogue is believable, the passion is intense, and danger provides a chilling backdrop to the budding romance.

However, despite all the things the book does well (such as strong/understanding hero, brave/determined heroine, and obsessed/chilling villain), the plot falters at the en...more

I'm beginning to hate reading Christy Reece's books, because they are costing me sleep and work - I (again) read all night and was late to work (and I had an important appointment!!!) so that I could finish. Ms. Reece has a talent for suspense and I enjoy the topic this series showcases (finding and "retreiving" lost and missing people, mostly young girls kidnapped for human traffickers and other low-life scum).

The change up in Last Chance simply enhanced the theme: The Ghost is a young woman wh...more

Objectively it is all very silly: the private rescue organization full of handsome people, the hero who is not only a philanthropic English billionaire but an ex-agent employed by a covert government unit, the evil possessive psychopath's internal monologues; the instant attraction the protagonists feel for each other ... But everything works because Reece is a very skilled writer who is good with emotions and insights into the characters.

Meaning 'Last Chance' is a prime example of tot...more

McKenna works for Last Chance Rescue and makes her living by saving lives. She has a history of disappearing and only reappear when someone is in danger. When a woman is kidnapped, McKenna decides to help.

She rescued Lucas and then wasn't heard from again. He spends half a year trying to find this "ghost". When she finds out that he is searching for her, her curiosity gets the best of her.

McKenna isn't looking for a relationship. She doesn't even like to be touched, and she has a very valid reas...more

I read a review that someone else wrote that said the last chapter of this story was unnecessary. I completely disagree. The last chapter of the book is an important part of the happy ending. McKenna went from being a sweet 16 girly girl to living in the shadows always afraid and hiding her feminity as a way to keep people from noticing her. Giving McKenna a "cinderella story" ending was something the character dererved, and I absolutely think Reece did the story justice by providing it. If you...more

A truly traumatized heroine on the run from an obsessive psycho who robbed her of a life for years. An undercover bada$$ hero who gave up his deep undercover government work to take his fathers place in charge of a billion dollar company. He gives her a Cinderella life and she give him something to look forward to in his life. The lack of crazy misunderstandings and the strength of their relationship was a nice change from the last few I've read so I went with them all the way.

WOW!absolutely wonderful read, loved Lucas-McKenna,the sufferings McKenna had to go through cause of that maniac stalker just creeped me out badly and as rightly mentioned by Lucas,McKenna is a very brave courageous strong woman who endured so much pain and lost her whole family yet she never broke down she carried on and kept fighting,Noah-Samara-Lucas all helped McKenna in healing, loved the way Lucas in the start itself accepts his feelings for McKenna and starts making efforts to bring his lov...more

This is the 3rd book in the 2nd LCR Trilogy. As with any series, please make sure that you start with the correct book order especially if you are interested in who is who in every book you read. Although being the 2nd Trilogy, it’s the 6th book in the LCR series.

In Last Chance we meet McKenna Sloan also known as the Ghost and Lucas Kane. We came to know a teeny bit about McKenna in the previous book. She lends a hand when needed by LCR but is not permanently employed by them and no one truly kn...more

I absolutely loved this book. Lucas was so incredibility sweet. I really liked how patient he was with McKenna to open up on her own time. And it was kinda cute that her eating like a ravenous animal turned him on.

McKenna, love the name btw, was also awesome. She has such a strong personality, its hard not to like her.

What made this story for me though was the ending. I really liked it. I'm not going to tell you about it though, 'cause I'd hate to ruin it for you. ;) This book definitely left...more

Lucas Kane...yowza!!

Reviewed on http://atastyread.blogspot.com

I have FINALLY finished the complete LCR Series by Christy Reece and let me tell you...She sure saved the sexiest hero for last...ok not the sexiest, maybe the most charming? Lucas Kane was everything I expected and oh...so much more!!

McKenna "Ghost" helped with English Millionaire's rescue months ago and he hasn't stopped looking for her since. McKenna, a freelance operative for LCR has many secrets that are coming back to haunt her,...more

I don't know whether or not to make it a 2 or a 3. After writing it down... maybe I should make it 1.5 stars??

The romance was beyond sweet to the point it was unbelievable most of the time. She just kept showing up, he kept feeding her and getting horny watching her eat.... UGH!!!

Damian's POV... that constant flip flop back and forth did nothing for the story except set up the next. Just when you thought the main story was progressing... WHAM... back into the bad guy's part.

Between the flip flo...more

This is my favorite in the series so far. I like how Ms. Reece doesn't hold back on the gory details, no matter how uncomfortable it makes the reader. She has a knack for not only making me root for the good guys, but really, REALLY want to torture the bad guys. The villain in this book is truly evil.

Lucas is a sweetheart of a man and isn't afraid to show it. He feels an instant attraction to McKenna and though he knows she is in hiding, he keeps on trucking until he finds her. When he realises...more

Wow!!!! Absolutely fantastic! Last Chance was a gem of a book, one you'll reread over and over. Definitely, more than a five star rating applies to this story. It had the right mixture of everything you ever wanted in a suspense/romance. This was one helluva emotional rollercoaster ride. The story flowed and the two words I can come up with about Last Chance was "eloquently written".

this is the story that I have been waiting for, McKenna's. She has been mentioned in the last couple of books and to read her story was heartbreaking. I guess that is what is making this latest trilogy so good is to read their heartbreaking stories and their HEA. McKenna's and Lucas' story was good! Makes me wonder if I've heard the last of IDC. I'm in awe of her writing and can't wait to get to the last trilogy.

My biggest problem with this book was the villian. He was a psychopath, but a one note psychopath. You understand the villian by page 50 and therefore can predict what he's going to do. There was no suspence at all. It was also disappointing that I figured out the surprise twist at the end of the book within the first hundred pages. A boring, unmemorable read.

I love this whole series. I would highly recommend. This series is a mixture of rough type military men and women, but in the end love wins. The scenarios are believable and you find yourself pulling for the hero and heroine and sitting on the edge of you seat and turning the pages really fast to get to the next part of the story.

I love Christy's Books each one just get better and the characters are just amazing. Everytime I read one of her books i am just amazed at the job she does. I have to say she is one of my favorite Author's. I am reading Sweet Justice now and ummmmm you should read it.

Damon - The most despicable evil villain. Lucan and McKenna - the sweetest couple. Found myself rushing though the book because I couldn't wait to find out what happened. The only downer is now I have to wait until August for the next book. Lucas and McKenna are definitely worth a re-read just to savor their relationship unfolding. Each of the LCR operatives has overcome adversity which makes for an exciting page turning story. Last Chance was just a WOW!!! Looking forward to reading about Honor...more

McKenna is a great character. I love any kick ass girl, but McKenna has the real vulnerable streak to her that I enjoyed all through this book. Of course Lucas was perfect for her too. This is a great series!

I'm a big fan of romantic suspense. I've gobbled up LJ, Karen Rose, Cindy Gerard, Brenda Novak and so on. Christy Reece can claim her spot with all of these authors. Great book.

Growing up in a tiny community in Alabama boasting only one stop sign and a gas station gave Christy ample opportunity to create daring adventures in her head. When she wasn't thinking of her story characters, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys kept her entertained and out of trouble. Later came the chills of Stephen King and the thrills of John Grisham, but the romance genre always held a strong place...more
