I know as the creator of the Argeneau group I should love the books in the series more than anyone, but seriously this book was terrible. I even gave 2 stars because I liked the epilogue but I'm not sure if it even deserves that. Definitely the one I enjoyed the least in the whole series.
First, there is no romance at all. They meet, realize they are mates and go straight to bed. That's all, really.REALLY! I was bored like hell most of the time. Had to put it down more than once, even read another...more

well, unlike most other reviewers, I was very disappointed in this book!
this felt like a short story, more then a full novel. so much was completely underdeveloped. for example,, our heroine, has six living children she birthed with the her first life mate of SIX HUNDRED WONDERFUL YEARS and yet we hear nothing about them, only of armand's three kids. (yes, this is HIS story, but she's his life mate, it's THEIR story). her previous life mate is mentioned briefly. big whoop.

Great series but this one wasn't one of my favorites
Part of the popular Argeneau series, 'Born to Bite' picks up where 'The Renegade Hunter' left off. Armand Argeneau's wives were killed under suspicious circumstances. His brother Lucien, a Council member, has opened an investigation. Eshe d'Aureaus, a Council enforcer, goes undercover to investigate. But to her suprise, she finds she can't read Armand and he cannot read her either--they are intended life mates.

I get the impression enforcers are chosen for their brawn and bravado rather than their brains...
When I read The Immortal Hunter, Eshe's brief appearance sparked my interest. She was forceful, confident and, as a rare female enforcer, she was someone I wanted to learn more about.
So I was eager to get started when I realised Born to Bite concentrated on Eshe's investigation into the "accidental" deaths of Nicholas' and Armand's wives. I'm pleased to get closure on that front, but the stor...more

This books follows up where The Renegade Hunter leaves off with Nicholas waiting to learn his future.
Eshe d'Aureus is sent by the Council to Nicholas' father, Armand's Farm under the guise of her needing protection from a viscious No-Fanger when she was actually there to investigate Armand and the mysterious deaths of his 3 Immortal wives. While all of the deaths were previously thought of as accidents, Eshe is there to prove Nicholas innocence by finding the true killer of his fathers wifes an...more

Argeneau bites again! Sands fans can rest assured knowing the latest Argeneau novel Born to Bite is just as great as book one. This book may have a different tempo than her earlier novels, but it still captures the same paranormal story fans know and love.

While this had some of the humor of the earlier books, it still wasn't as enjoyable as the first few in the series. It was a definite improvement over the Rogue Hunter books in the series though. And it was nice to see some of the earlier characters that I had fallen in love with, like Lucien and Bricker, who always made me laugh.
I thoroughly enjoyed Armand's life mate Eshe from the moment she roared in on the back of her motorcycle. She was wild and a spitfire in the earlier Hunter book but le...more

Lynsay Sands Book "Born To Bite"
“If you have not read any of Lynsay's Argeneau series, boy, you don't know what you are missing! Once again Lyndsay out does herself with “Born To Bite.” This book is fantastic with lots of action and drama, and very steamy sex. Lynsay never seems to amaze me with her style of writing, I always look forward to her books, and her coming together of life mates.

Born to Bite is book thirteen in Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands; I have been following this series from beginning and I am not bored with it yet. I have to admit that each book becomes predictable but for some reason it really does not bother me, because I keep reading them.
This particular story revolves around Armand and Eshe; Eshe is sent in to investigate the deaths of Armand’s wives. To no surprise Eshe and Armond discover that they are life mates. As the story progresses we get more clues...more

First I must say I have not read any previous books in this series. It was very easy to identify the characters and get involved with the story.
A beautiful, smart vampire named Eshe is sent undercover to investigate the mysterious, but seemingly accidental deaths, of 3 wives of a well known vampire named Armand. She is a enforcer, a vampire trained to hunt rogue vampires. Eshe is torn between her growing feelings toward Armand, and the possibility that he could be a murderer. If he isn't than s...more

OK -- This book had a little more to it than the others. We finally wrapped up the mysteries behind the Renegade Hunter series, which was a branch of the entire Argeneau series. I laughed, which is very typical of this series, but I'm giving it a 5 because I was touched at the end, not shedding any tears per se, but I did get a little choked up.

Although I don't see how the h/h would be able to fall in love with eachother, they weren't as annoyingle alike as the others. Even if only for the reason that both of them have had lifemates and were vampires for a long time already.
Still the Argeneau novels become more and more unbelievable – The livemate concept is just becoming boring, annoying even. And the more I think about the books the more they morph into one.

Another great read but wasn't initially excited for this one when I found it to be Armand`s story.
I loved Eshe, I just enjoyed her character and that she was a no nonsense type of girl who wasn't a at all a girly girl.
I did enjoy Armand`s character once I got to know him and learnt that he just wanted to do what's right and try to protect everyone he loved by keeping his distance away from family and relationships.

I have enjoyed all of the Lynsay's Sands books they are fast paced, humorous, enjoyable, and a fun read. If you are looking for vampiric angst, dark fantasy or shocking horror you won’t find it here but this light-hearted romance. The Argeneau vampires are not traditional vampires, they call themselves Immortals and the only traits that they share with vampires are longevity, strength, mind control abilities and a hunger for blood. They are not undead, they can go out in the day, eat garlic, have...more
I have always loved this series, and enjoyed this book as well. I'm not going to write the whole synopsis, but I will say if you haven't read an Argeneau Novel yet, start at the beginning because you will enjoy them all. Might as well start with the first four, which are my favorite. I have read every book in this series and after buying it two days ago, I hardly put it down until I was finished with it. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review Born To Bite by Lynsay Sands. The Argeneau series is one of my favorites, and this one is by far the hottest one yet.
Born to Bite is Armand's story, and holds a key to the puzzle that ties the series together. Like many other readers I was wondering if Armand really killed his wives, and who set up Nicholas. Well Born to Bite explains it and finally gives up closure on the subject.

Armand, younger brother to Lucian and father to Thomas, Jeanne Louise, and Nicholas, pulled away from his family years ago after the death of his third wife. Although he suspected there was more to his wives' deaths than the accidents each appeared to be, he couldn't figure it out. It was better to break all ties to anyone he cared about, namely his children, just in case someone was killing all the people in his life he may love. He discovers Eshe, a Council enforcer, is his lifemate when she i...more
I love this series, and BORN TO BITE did not disappoint.
Armand Argeneau is the brother-in-law of Marguerite – she and her children were the focus of six of the ten Argeneau Family books, and she appears/is mentioned in the other four. Armand’s had pretty bad luck in the past, with three wives dieing, and his son’s wife being murdered. So when Eshe needs to stay at his farm and turns out to be his life mate, things get complicated – especially since Eshe isn’t staying with Armand for the reasons...more

Armand Argeneau has, basically, withdrawn from those he loves after the death of his third wife. After growing suspicious about the deaths of Armand's wives, Lucian, Armand's brother, sends Eshe d'Aureus, one of his enforcers to investigate. Unfortunately, Eshe discoveries that Armand is her life mate, but can she trust him?

It was good. It was not extraordinary but not awful either. I love the Argeneau Series, love most characters and am always waiting for the next story to come. This time Lynsay Sands gave us the story of Armand Argeneau (Nicholas and Thomas' father). For those who follow the series it was expected since the previous novel was about Nicholas and ended with the need to go after his father to clear up problems of the past.

I actually liked this better than I expected. Unfortunately some of the best copy was in the last scenes so I can't quote them without giving away the mystery. I like spoilers but I am not that cruel.
This book is about Armand and Eshe. He is an Argeneau -- like the Kennedy's, they seem to have an endless supply. Eshe is an immortal who had found and lost one soul mate. This time, Lucien Argeneau appears to be the matchmaker instead of Marguerite. Lucien asks his brother, Armand, to allow one of his enforcers, Eshe, to stay at his farm for a couple of weeks. Both Eshe and Armand are immortals. Both have lost lifemates. However, Armand married twice more knowing the women weren't lifemates. Each time, they died--leaving Armand a widower 3 times over. "That's Metamucil," Bricker said with disgust, snatching it from her hand.
"So?" She turned to scowl at him. "What's wrong with Metamucil?"
"It's--" He glanced at the container and read, "A dietary supplement."
"That sounds healthy," she said, trying to grab it back.
"Eshe," he said, his disgust giving way to amusement. "It's what old mortals take to get regular."
"To get regular what?" she asked, and then poked him in the stomach, hard. The moment Bricker bent over with an "oomph," she snatched the container back and repeated, "Regular what?"
"Crap," he gasped, clutching his stomach.
"I didn't hit you that hard," she said with some disgust of her own.
"No." He sighed, straightening. "I meant that's what they get regulated. Crap."
Eshe dropped the can in dismay. "They buy crap?”
