Ferretter makes the rather bold claim in his introduction that this will be the "comprehensive study" of Plath's fiction, a thread of criticism he finds sorely lacking. Though I can agree that the study is comprehensive, I'd call it more of a jumping off point than an end result. More a catalogue than a book of criticism, Ferretter's strength lies in his attentive and exhaustive research than in his analysis.
