I mean, sure, a lot of shit went down at the end, but after the set-up it all seemed a little pedestrian. "Godwar" and "Apocalypse" are mighty, sanity-stretching concepts, right? It feels like they settled towards the end instead of ratcheting up the spin on Lovecraft that they started with--if it spun out of control it probably would have been better than the slowing wobble and fall down.

Still fun, even if some of the art made the human characters look freakier than some of the monsters!

You'd think it's the end, but "Nemesis" is still coming. I am pretty sure this set of 4 comics was supposed to be the end of Fall of Cthulhu. Here's 2 reasons why:

1) The story ends, and ends well
2) The "Nemesis" series, which came after this, is printed on entirely different paper then the entire rest of the Fall of Cthulhu comics.

A fascinating comic book reimagining of the apocalypse foretold in much of the (non-Dreamlands) Lovecraftian stories. Doesn't quite capture the nihilistic creepiness of Alan Moore's The Courtyard, but the language was less verbose, and the plot was more substantial. While the books were well-tinged with horror and despair, they still managed to sound a slight note of hope in the darkness, something of a concession to the comic book medium. Overall, I quite enjoyed it.

Enjoyed better than Vol. 4. Trying to remember if under same title were the ones that really enjoyed. Artwork was more Moebius-esque and sparse. ...
