Recommends it for: anyone doing yoga
not a fancy & slick yoga book, but full of excellent, clear, unharmful information and good photos (b & w). it is extremely useful if you have a basic understanding of your ayurvedic temperment, and, if you don't, will help you to learn this crucial study of self-care.

Definitely a keeper. I love the layout of the book--the beginning chapters outline the basic practices of yoga and ayurveda, and I'd say they're descriptive enough for a beginner. The latter part of the book is an index of poses with illustrations and details descriptions as well as their effects on different ayurvedic types. The book also has different sequences for the different doshas with varying degrees of difficulty. I'll be making photocopies of these for easy reference.
