Robert Vavra and Fleur Cowles have put out THE most beautiful and magical books I have ever laid my eyes on. I am so glad I still have my hardback copy from when I was a kid - though a page or two torn.
A sweet and touching tale with absolutely beautiful illustrations. Is a companion book to Lion & Blue, one of my all time favorites. This is a story that transcends age; it's a magical adventure about Tiger Flower, King of the Grass. Was a Christmas gift I'd forgotten about.
If I ever write a children's book, I want it to be like this one! What beautiful illustrations. A message about being happy living simply, peacefully, and lovingly that toes the line of being hippie fluff and misses it by a hair.

A peace-loving sixties kind of tale about a tiny tiger. I would say that it's one long poem spliced to accommodate incredible paintings by Fleur Cowles.
I just remembered this book, but it wasn't until I looked it up that I realized it was by the photographer Robert Vavra. Still beautiful.
