I don’t know what this was, but there was no filling out details of the plot.

This was a strange book. It’s people having conversations. People talk about people, and things that happened, or might happen, and maybe why things happened. It’s telling not showing. I didn’t feel any emotion because no one is doing anything that causes feelings. Three sisters talk to Dana and the group decides Dana will follow Garth for a while. Dana shows up in his lobby. When he sees her he invites her to his condo

In the fourth and final installment of the Titan sisters saga, we finally get to hear Dana and Garth's story.

Dana Birch, Titanville Deputy, is not related to the Titan girls by blood, but in every other way she is their sister. Coming from an abusive home, she has wanted nothing else in life but to belong & to be loved - not that she would ever let that happen. To love is to hurt and she hasn't given anyone else the opportunity to do so since she moved out from under her father's thumb. She

Just added this book to the coveted "Best of 2011" shelf! Abso-freakin-lutely one of THE best hero redemption stories I've ever read.

Garth starts out being a vile human being in Under Her Skin and continues being a jerk in Lip Service but by the end of Straight from the Hip you start to see a side of Garth that was unexpected. He's human just like the rest of us. With this book, Garth literally shines. He becomes the man he was meant to be and by the end of the book you have a hard time remembe

It's a tie between Garth and Dana's story and Izzy and Nick's story as my favorites in the Lone Star Series. I was upset with Garth in Straight from the Hip because of what he did to Nick and Izzy, but he redeemed himself in Hot on her Heels. I found myself rooting for him and feeling sympathy for his situation. Izzy was great in her determination to bring Garth into the family, which was very admirable after his behavior in the beginning. Absolutely worth the read.

The fourth and final book in the Lone Star Sisters series. My favorite of the series!

Garth Duncan is the illegitimate son of Jed Titan. Since he was 14-years-old, he's been on a path to destroy his father. Jed's daughters and by default, Garth's sisters, have gotten in the way, but now things have changed. The sisters and their closest friend, Dana, decide to dig up what they can on him to find out his real story.

Dana has never let a man into her life before. She has her own "secrets" that keep

[Warning: This review contains spoilers for previous books.]

In the first three books of this series, all of the Titan sisters realized that their father doesn’t give a damn about them, and that they need to stick together instead of falling for his divisive tactics. And Izzy Titan also decided that their unacknowledged half-brother Garth, who has been trying to bring their father down, should be brought into the family and cured with love. Though she didn’t anticipate that their friend Dana woul
Okay, I thought Izzie & Nick's story was the best - I was wrong!! Loved Garth & Dana! What a great way to end the series - sorry to see them go. If you have been following the series - you will love this one.

Like the rest of the books in this series, I didn't mind this one, liked it mostly, but I didn't find anything really great about it. It wasn't a horrible book by any means, but something about it just didn't ring my bell.

Series Note:
This book is the fourth and last book in Mallery's Lone Star Sisters series. The books are very interconnected and should be read in order.

"Hot on Her Heels" is the fourth book in the Lone Star Sisters series by Susan Mallery. This is the one that I anticipated that I would like the least. In this book, the author takes the bad guy from the previous 3 books and begins to show his good side. Slowly but surely, he becomes one of the good guys. Susan Mallery is good at this, I bought it and loved it! Dana, the best friend of the Titan sisters has a problem with strong men. She is a deputy sheriff and not at all "girly." She was knocke ...more

This was a great conclusion to the Lone Star Sister Series. For the final installment, we learned the truth about Kathy and Jed and the motives of Garth to destroy Jed. I really understand him and why he did everything that he did to bring Jed down. Jed was a bastard and he deserved everything that he got. I underdtand why he didn't want to give Garth the money for the operation but still, he's a bastard.

What a fantastic ending to a fantastic series. Oh man, I loved, loved, loved it! I was actually a bit anxious to start it because I has such high hopes but when I read Edna Lyn's review I knew: It actually was good!

So yeah, I wanted to read about Dana since book 1. I loved her sarcasm and everything. She is just such a great character. What I hadn't see coming was that her lover would be Garth! As in Garth, half-brother and former bad guy (more like the usual bad guy!) who I kind of "hated" in t

This is the fourth book in a series that I didn't especially love. I like Susan Mallery as an author and the premise of three sisters who are under attack because of their father's misdeeds. As I said, the first three books weren't fantabulous but I really liked this one.
It turns out that the man trying to wreck the three sisters was Garth Duncan, the illegitimate son of their father. He had gathered up his courage and asked his father for help twenty years ago. Jed Titan (the father) refused an

This is the fifth book, and final book, by Susan Mallery in the Lone Star Sisters series. The story is about Dana Birch, Titansville deputy and life-long friend to the Titan sisters. She’s been charged, by the sisters, to keep an eye on Garth Duncan, the family’s nemesis. Garth, throughout the series, has been trying to take down Jed Titan because he refused to help Garth’s mother. Turns out Garth is Jed’s son (it’s not really a spoiler, because you find this out in the second book). This book i ...more

Hot on Her Heels was a great conclusion to the Lone Star Sisters series. It was already clear from the previous book that Garth and Dana would be a lot fun together especially with all the banter. It was nice to get more insight and background from Dana. I liked her character growth. Garth as well, not only with Dana but his sisters (who definitely a force to be reckoned with). Plus he was so damn charming, I already warmed to him during his first scene. I kept thinking, wasn't I suppose to hate ...more

4.5/5 stars

I'm truly stunned. After three books, I sincerely thought there was ZERO hope for me liking Garth. None. But this 4th and final book, was by far and away my FAVORITE of the quartet. Mallery has completely blown me away with her ability to transform characters and take readers on a journey of seeing experiences through different character's eyes. In this case, Garth, the character I thought of as a villain.

I absolutely adored Garth and Dana's chemistry and banter. That's the type of c

I love Susan Mallery. Her books make me smile, laugh, and cry. You knew this story was coming in the series when you read the first 3 on the Titan sisters. The book starts by Dana going in to bring Garth in for questioning. She thinks she finally has him, but in the end, he goes home, a free man. He's been going after her best friends for a while, finding ways to hurt them. She's a deputy who needs to put him away. However, that whole chemistry thing gets in the way and makes them fall for each ...more

Liked the previous books in the series, but this one although not written any worse than the others was a disappointment. Actually it was the character Dana who was tiresome. She is so disfunctionally tiresome that she is stupid. No one is this bad. My thought is that if she dislikes all things "girly" so much she should just have been lesbian and let all the people around her catch a break from all her whining about not being weak. I believe in strong women as much as the next , but this woman ...more

Such a sweet story. I love these kind of books. There's a thin line between love and hate and Susan Mallery is perfect in creating these stories. I loved both Garth and Dana. My favorite out of all the books in this series is probably Nick and Izzy's story, but this one came pretty close. Garth was a fantastic love interest and Dana a very rational, loveable MC. If you need a fun, sweet story with a touch of mystery and crime, pick this up!

I cannot believe but this book was the better of the whole series.

The bad brother Garth Duncan shows his soul (and some conscience) and with the help of Dana, Titan sisters's best friend decides to destroy his estranged father Jed Titan.

The story is really good and Dana is a great heroine. Garth improves a lot and in the end you cannot help but love him.

A very good series, recommended!

Hot On Her Heels is the 4th book in Susan Mallery's Lone Star Sisters series and probably the best. Of all the 4 main female lead characters (over those 4 books), Dana (the deputy sheriff & family fried) is by far the most likeable. She's not one of the Titan sisters, she's the best friend the sisters grew up with. She's the only one who didn't grow up "a rich girl". She has a strong & believable personality. I enjoyed her relationship with Garth.
A 4.5 for me as it bogged down a bit towards the end, but Dana was such a great heroine that I bumped it up :)
A wonderful conclusion to this four book series.
