I try to read this book most nights before going to bed, at least a few pages. Why? Because the human spirit gets beaten and battered each day and at the end of it, you need something to soften the blow. I read it to rekindle my hope in myself and my dreams. They are possible but sometimes life has a way of undermining them. I thank God that Joel has this book to put a smile on my face and heart each night. Dont expect to read this book cover-to-cover, as it is highly repetitive. You'll read the...more

What were the issues then that led me to give this book a rating comparable to “poor”? Quite a bit. Sit back and have a nice cup of coffee or tea as you review this list with sometimes lengthy explanations.
1. Too long. From start to finish, It’s Your Time runs a little over 300 pages. The book has 23 chapters and is broken up into five different sections that include 4-5 chapters each:
* It’s Time to Believe

My first thought upon picking this book up was, "Why is he on the cover?" I didn't know how popular Joel Osteen is, or how marketable his image is. This was my first time reading anything of his.
This book is definitely humanly inspiring, since it focuses on "you," but I'm not convinced it's entirely biblical. I understand that we need to grow our faith and trust God completely. I know that God will provide what we need. But I don't entirely agree that God w...more

Joel Osteen's It's Your Time is an inspirational/spiritual handbook on how to change your outlook and tap into God's outrageous plans for you.
Did I say outrageous?
First of all, I listened to the audio version of this book, read by the author. A friend of mine recommended him to me and I saw this at the library while looking for a book on languages. Not sure why I picked it up, but whatever. I put the first CD in and heard a thick Texan accent calling me "Friend" and...more

Overall a very positive and inspiring book for those who may have lost hope in their lives ever changing.
While I don't consider myself a religious person, subscribing to a specific faith, I did appreciate the spirituality in this book. I had to look past the religious references, for myself, to find the deeper meaning behind the Bible passages. I also preferred the real life examples in the book to the passages from the scripture.

Okay, okay, I admit that I was skeptical at first when a friend gave me this book. We are both practicing Catholics and have shared the same struggles in our jobs and marriages in the past year-and-a-half. What have I got to lose? (Besides a little time.) I picked up the book and read it during this first week of 2012.

One big ray of sunshine, that Joel Osteen is. I listened to this on CD and he read it. It was good to hear him annunciate the positives and even laugh at his own little jokes. The entire premise of the book is that God doesn’t close one door with out opening another. Osteen rides this theme from start to finish. Always keep positive and trust in God. He uses several stories of people who have had challenges in their lives and God had plans for them to be great. They only had to believe th...more
Great Christian book by Osteen. I have watched Osteen's Sunday morning services off and on for a few years and while he's not the most in depth teacher, he is extremely uplifting. That comes out in his books very well. The book did a wonderful job re-inspiring my faith and "lighting a fire" under me to get things right in my life. I wanted to give the book four stars for how well it served me, but to be more fair to the average reader I gave it three. I am the type of reader that ...more
This is the amazing conclusion to the last edition titled "Become a Better You:. Its from the same author and covers the same concept and tells the reader that no matter how hard the econemy is its is still possible to achive your goals. I found this book to be very inspirational and unforgetable with the words written by Joel. I recommend this book for struggling teens in High school.

Joel Osteen should be called the great motivator. He so simply motivates and challenges you to be all that God wants you to be. He teaches of God's favor and trusting God for abundance in our lives. Using stories from everyday life, he shows how truly trusting God for the natural and the supernatural can achieve all God's blessing. He gives inspiration, bold prayers and practical living tools for moving forward in faith. The hope filled messages and encouragements motivates you to expand be...more
The third collection of, ahem, “sermons” from America’s premier prosperity preacher. The Great Recession means boom times for a new breed of televangelists pointed labeled “prosperity preachers” by the U.S. media and of these none is doing better box office than “Pastor” Joel Osteen. The seemingly non-aging (does he have a middle aged painted portrait of himself in his attic?) and photogenic as Julia Roberts Houston preacher has boxed up 300 pages of his latest corporate-level-consistent, uh,...more
Read this on my Kindle -- was attracted by the popularity rating it got on Amazon but found it way too simplistic and repetitive. It's the typical "prosperity gospel" preaching, and while I agree with some of it and believe in positive thinking and trusting God, it just didn't resonate. I ended up barely skimming the second half.
It was so awesome!!! I was greatly consoled and encouraged through reading this book! Joel Osteen is a great man of God. I reccommend evevrybody to read this book because it will change their life!!! Joel really encourages and motivates us to live life to the fullest with the weapon of faith. Our faith moves God, not out words.
I've read several of Joel's books and each one has inspired me to be a better person. In this book he explains how you can live a more fulfilling life when you "believe" that "It's Your Time". It's not a book for readers who are negative and have a closed mind. It is only for those who seek change in their life without being bombarded by scriptures and unrealistic stories. I picked this book to download because I believe "It's My Time" and it could be yours too if y...more
I just finished reading this book, but so far what I have read has been inspiring. I'm starting to believe that it is my time for blessings and favor!
Some of the content is redundant, but I suppose it may be necessary to reinforce the idea that it really is your time.
I also enjoy reading the blog that he and his wife Victoria writes. I like to start off my day this way.

It is very helpful and encourages me to be the best I can and though times may get difficult nothing lasts forever, absolutely inspiring, a definite read for anyone looking for a positive side to their situation gives you a total different look at daily life.
Another wonderful, encouraging, affirming, inspirational and motivational book by Joel Osteen! I love reading his books for all these reasons because he is so positive and uplifting. Highly recommended!
This is an amazing book, i've seen Joel in person and what an amazing man he truly is. I think everyone should read one or more of his books. You will find it spiritually sound and motivating.

He is so positive and it's rubbing off on me. I love it. Since I started reading this book all types of great things are happening to me.

Very Inspirational & uplifting!! I would recamend this book to anyone who needs that extra boost to help them accomplish whatever it is you are wanting to do in your life... Great read!
All I can say about this book is that it changes my perspective in seeing things. It offers HOPE which is one of the greatest need in our society today.
I have attempted to read this book twice in the last 2 years.
I picked it up where I had left off the last time and it was still pretty difficult to read.
The motivational content is great, it really helps you feel more optimistic about life in general and that you can accomplish anything with God beside you.
However, it seems to relay too many stories about other people's struggle that ends in success after they had prayed to get what they wanted all along.

This book is so encouraging and just what I needed. Very inspirational. It's time we started thinking and believing in positive terms.
Good messages that gave me more ideas about how to watch for the positive influences of the Lord in my life.
Need a pick me up? This is a great book to inspire and motivate. I read it in a day and loved it!
how to deal with myself, the issues in my life and how to be an inspiration to others.
It's OK to want things and God only wants to help you succeed. A very uplifting book.
