This is another picture book that did not translate well into ebook form. It is a sweet story of mother love and of how friightening it can be for a child to be separated from its mother. Baby Polar and Mother Polar are enjoying a day in the cold North when it begins to snow. Mother Polar wants to seek shelter, but Baby Polar wants to play, Soon Baby Polar can't find Mother. He seeks shelter in a big white cave and soon hears the beating of his mother's heart. And the frightening storm isn't so ...more

A nice story capturing the relationship between mother and child.
Sunnyvale Librarian
Baby Polar's story takes place as a cold, snowy, windy storm replaces gentle blue skies. Preschoolers who have never experienced a snowstorm will know that this story is not about the weather but about feeling safe and protected by a parent's love. The pairing of illustrator Karen Balouch's palette of soft pastels and author Yannick Murphy's loving relationship between mother and cub will offer reassurance to a young child who may fear separation from a parent.

Baby Polar loves cuddling up with Mama Polar--until the snow starts to fall.

Then he wants to play! He loves catching the tasty flakes on his tongue and zigzagging across the ice.

When the winds begin to gust and the snow becomes a blizzard, though, Baby Polar knows it's time to go back to his mother. But now the whole world is covered in white.

A great book that shows both a cubs playfulness and the warmth of a mother's love.

Playful baby polar bear loves his mom - and loves playing out in the snow. He catches snowflakes on his tongue and makes snow angels and revels in the beauty of the falling snow. He is so busy playing, that he doesn't heed his mother's warning that he should come in when the storm builds. The illustrations and text capture Baby Polar's joy and fear perfectly as well as the love between Mother and Cub.

A sweet winter snuggle story. Little bear is snug with Mama, frolics in the snow and gets lost- soon to be reunited. Cliche? Yes. Comforting. Yes.

Spare, graphic illustrations. Simple enough for Story Time.

Super cute book, but hard to really get the full impact on a kindle. I think it would be much better in real book form.
