Great story! I love Ballantyne's historical novels, especially for his refreshingly light writing style as well as the optimism and positive energy emanating from his characters. I had a lot of joy reading this book and I learned plenty about the viking world and history. Fun and inspiring!

This book doesn't have quite as much wit as the typical Ballantyne book, but the 900s language style is there. I love Alric (he's a little kid, by the way), and the Viking style is the best.
