The Castle of Dark Dreams is just part of an adult theme park, right? The most decadent attraction in a place where people go to play out their wildest erotic fantasies. Holgarth isn't really a wacky wizard, and Sparkle Stardust doesn't actually create cosmic chaos by hooking up completely mismatched couples. And that naked guy chained up in the dungeon? No way he's a vamp...more

I had a big change from love to hate with this book. Things like the main characters personality seemed to just change randomly. Logic seemed to be ignored in a lot of places. In the end, I enjoyed the book but I only gave this book a 3 stars 'cause I didn't see the literacy value.
The author seemed to build up a conservative or at least just an introvert type of character who liked keeping to herself. She didn't like surprises, was quite stubborn in her ways and had a love for her plants like it...more

This is a book I've read at least one other time. I bought it at walmart sometime ago for $5.97

Its about A castle called Dark Dreams. It starts with A vampire who gets unburied by a cosmic trouble maker named Ganymede. The vampire named Dacian is brought to Dark Dreams because his brother Taurin has been looking for him for centuries. When he is brought there he is a little crazed because when his maker stephen calls him he denies him and he switches him on so he becomes violent and wants to kil...more

I haven’t yet read a lot of Nina Bangs’ books, just a few, one or two from a couple of her series. However, I should know better than to second guess her when I start reading one of her books. I usually think the story starts out a little silly, should I really keep going, and then POW! She throws that tortured but oh-so-handsome hero into the mix at just the right time, along with a mysterious plot, and I’m hooked again. Maybe after this book I will have learned my lesson.

And Ms. Bangs is very...more

The latest entry in the Castle of Dark Dreams. Like the others it's fun - the landscape peopled with unusual characters with strange problems and a sense of humor. Sparkle Stardust and Ganymede reprise their cosmic troublemaker roles although Sparkle is undergoing an identity crisis - in her attempts to swim out of the shallows of her character she actually goes shopping at WalMart. We have a new bunch of hunky guys [loosely speaking:] to replace Eric, Brynn and Conall. There's Bain [demon lord:...more

Dorchester Pub sent this to me a few weeks ago to be reviewed.

Plot:

Cinn is the newly hired attraction at The Castle of Dark Dreams. She has a talent with plants. She doesn’t know what’s she’s gotten herself into, wants to leave but is forced to stay for at least two weeks per her boss: Sparkle Stardust. She’s thrown into th...more

Why I chose it: Okay, so the title has the words “wicked” and “vampire” and the cover has a rather pale lady with many ear piercings (ooh! a rebel!) and dark red lips, making the whole vaguely erotic. I imagine that’s pretty typical, but I found it attractive enough to pick up.

I don’t think that this book will make it into my hall of fame of best books ever, but it was… entertaining. It certainly taught me about the lengths to which implausibility is stretched in the paranormal romance world.

This is going to be my second Nina Bangs experience. I’m none too excited, since the last one was so awful. But I’m committed to this market research project, so I’m giving this book its own chance. The cover art looks like something I would pick up. A pale white partial bust and bold red typeface just reinforce it’s a vampire book. Also, this is a New York Times Bestselling Author.
Again, we start with dialogue. Sigh. We find the location in “West Texas” in a blizzard. Is that a growing probl...more

Fourth book in the Castle of Dark Dreams series. Oh, how I have missed the Castle!!!

---

Wicked Pleasure - which is the second book in the Castle of Dark Dreams series - was the first paranormal romance novel that I ever read. I feel deeply in love with the fantasy aspects and started gobbling up everything that I could get my hands on. A match made in heaven.

So I was so thrilled when I heard there was another entry in this "trilogy" coming out.

Sadly, this book just didn't live up to expectations....more

My Wicked Vampire is the latest Castle of Dark Dreams paranormal romantic adventure featuring Cosmic Trouble Makers Sparkle Stardust and Ganymede (who spends most of his time in cat form). The two are trying to reform themselves for the Big Guy In Charge... not always successfully.

Sparkle has just hired botanist Cinn Airmid for her amazing Talent with plants! She had previously sent two over that feed off sexual energy. She's got other interesting plants that have some unique talents. As she's...more

I wasn't even able to give this book the standard 60-page chance. That's how off the wall it seemed! In all reality, I found the paranormal/mystical concepts of this book just too confusing, unexplained, and atypical to enjoy. I'm all for originality, but when you're incorporating concepts that are new, an author needs to explain these to some degree. I didn't at all connect with the characters, and granted, I know 37 pages isn't much of a chance to start connecting, but neithe...more

I received this one by mistake from a book swapping site. I figured I might as well read it, even though it was 4th in a series and I hadn't read 1, 2, or 3.

The concept was original and had potential; however, some of the characters didn't ring true. I have read so many well written PN novels that I just felt this one paled in comparison. I would have rated it only 2 stars, but there were a few humorous moments that made me smile. I don't think I'll be reading the rest of this series, though.

I love Castle of Dark Dreams! Sparkly and Ganymede are back, but a little more low-key this go-a-round.

Now that the original trio have found their HEA, we have a new group of immortal guys. Dacian's story is up first. He's a Night Feeder who happens to be a lot stronger than the typical Night Feeders . . . with a slight RAGE problem. Cinn happens to be a botanist with a unique skill of altering plants.

I enjoyed this romp through Castle of Dark Dreams. I'm looking forward to the next one in the s...more

My wicked vampire was an intriguing novel filled with supernaturals of all sorts coming together. Recommended this book from my fellow reading enthusiast this book was a light, seductive fun read where Cinn found out loving man is only the beginning, but loving a vampire brings on a whole new prospective. Good read, starts off fast, as every page brings you closer to understand everything to the very end.
Definitely enjoyed reading this novel!

I loved this book. Sparkle was such a minx…Holgarth made me laugh with all the eating and obvious quips he tossed toward the others was the comic relief…I fell in love with Dacian when he wanted to carry her flower Vince but was so afraid to…I was very into it but I love Nina Bangs’s work anyway since I read her story The Flame….I am such a fan…This is a must read…

Wow, I don't even know where to begin with the idiocy of this book! The plot was crazy, the characters where stupid, plants have feelings and there were "cosmic troublemakers." And I still don't know what the hell a "cosmic troublemaker" is. The good thing was that it was so stupid, it was almost hilarious... And someone already swapped me for it on Paperbackswap.com.

My Wicked Vampire fit the formula of all the rest of Bangs' Castle Dark Dreams books, but I was a little disappointed with it. The transition of the leading man from brooding tortured hero was too easy and the starring pair's decision to 'hook-up' was so out of nowhere that I went back and checked to make sure I hadn't skipped some pages.

Bangs did set up two more deliciously dark males, so it looks like there will be two more books in the series. But I am really waiting for he next God's of Midn...more

UGH cant stand to read the rest. i got more worthy books to read waiting anyway. plot is ridiculous. i guess the only thing it really got published for was it's originality... which is so off the roof its horrible. trying to go too original... theres prolly a reason why the idea u just came up with, wasn't used!

Cinn takes a job as a plant lady at the Castle of Dark Dreams. Castle of Dark Dreams is the series. It's a paranormal romance with graphic sex. The characters are likeable enough. Lots of sex and a big conflict resolved a the end of the story. I may look for more of these. Very light and fun!
Stacy
I can't even write the plot of this book because typing the words just sounds ridiculous. But, just to trigger my memory someday . . . .

Cinn- plant lady/ feature at adult theme park
Dacian- vampire beset with madness by his maker

They fall in love? lust? eh.

She saves him, he saves her. And in the end, she is conveniently immortal so they don't have to deal with that nasty 'to turn or not to turn' dilemma that most human/ vampire couples have to contend with.

Nina Bangs has the perfect name for the type of book she writes. This book is light, fun, and definitely sexy. I really didn't pick this book because I thought it would be fantastic; I picked it because of the author's name. How could I resist an author with a name that could rival any porn star's name? I found out this book would have been great no matter what name was on it in the end.
Steph

A nice, sexy story. It was incredibly unique; I especially liked the concept of cosmic trouble-makers, and reference to the other, lesser known goddesses.

And the sex was... lol, amazing is the only word I can think to use. Get me some of that please.
Heather
I think the best way to describe this is cute. Unusual names, good cast of secondary characters, and a sweet (a little sexy) romance. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, but I'll try to get them from my library. A quick and enjoyable read.
Debbie Heaton
The Castle of Dark Dreams, aka, an adult theme park; erotic fantasies, wizards, cosmic troublemakers, vampires and, let's not forget, an immortal botanist that talks to plants. A nicely blended story of comedy and romance.
Sandra
I got this book as a Christmas gift, started reading it and was a bit boring(my personal opinio). So kept putting it down and finally got to it and it got better, so it was good, I didnt know it was part of a series either lol.

Who doesn't lust after a dangerous, psycho vampire? Bad boys get me everytime and this book didn't disappoint me. It's the first Nina Bangs book I've read, but I'm going to be reading more now. I loved this book!

I absolutely love the Castle of Dark Dreams series, and Nina Bangs doesn't disappoint with this book either! Now I'm wondering, since there are new managers of the park will there be more books to come in this series?

This story took some time to get into.I was way past the middle before it got good to me.I didn't read the first three.I'm not sure if I will or not????

Talking cats. Telepathic plants. Random rescues from a goddess and Others With Unnamed Powers. Uneven writing. Nameless humans tossed in as props. Bleh.

As all of her work, My Wicked Vampire was steamy, funny, exciting and to be honest, I can never stop reading once I've started on of her books!

There are so many times when reading Nina Bangs that I want to just giggle from the crazy situations those characters get themselves into. I love Sparkle and Ganymede.

Talk about misspent youth. What did I do during those lazy summer days of childhood when I could’ve been honing my writing skills? Nothing. Okay, so I spent a lot of time dreaming I was a cowgirl with a trusty black stallion. Oh, and I read every Walter Farley horse novel. I was an only child so I relied on my imagination to supply the excitement in my life.

By high school, I’d decided to trade in...more
