Runaway Magic by Deborah Gordon was originally published in 1996 by Avon publishing.
This a historical/paranormal romance and is 371 pages in length. (paperback version)

Susannah,"Sukie", is a school teacher in Hong Kong. She is concerned about one of her students when her father, Luke pulls her out of Sukie's school. Luke believes girls have no real use for educations and his daughter would be just as well off in a finishing school.

Recommends it for: Historical Romance Lovers!
Surprisingly good! I thought this book might just be your average historical romance from the description I read on the back, but was pleasantly surprised by it's enjoyable dialogue and "witt-matching" battles between the hero and heroine. The author makes you wait for the "steamy" romance until the end, but worth it. A little bit of fantasy/magic is included in the story which makes it more intriguing and allows the way for sequels.
