Cassidy Shea's life was nothing if not serene. Loving parents and a doting brother provided happiness and innocent hope as life's experience. Yes-life was blissful at Cassidy's beloved home-Terrill. Still, for all Terrill's beauty and tranquility, ever there was something intangible and evasive lurking in the shadows. And though Cassidy wasted little worry on it, still she...more

One of my all-favorite love stories! Once you start you can't put it down. Marcia is one of my favorite authors!
I loved the tension between the two main characters and thoroughly enjoyed the plot.

Definitely 5 stars!

I was "shackled" to this romance. Shackles of Honor was a fantastic read, and I enjoyed every single page. Marcia Lynn McClure is brilliant storyteller. She has weaved a complex and enticing web of thrilling mystery, tantalizing secrets, and emblazoned seduction.

This is a page-turner of a romance. Each new page revealed a new layer to the plot. It was so exciting to read of Cassidy's and Mason's relationship unfolding through each chapter.

This is a very clean romance, as far...more

This book has lots of mystery to go along with the romance. The story of their betrothal is different than any other I have read. Mason is a strong romantic character with many burdens and secrets to bear. I really enjoyed the poetry in this book.

My favorite MLM book so far! Cassidy is a 17 year old girl who is unaware that she has been promised in marriage to a man she has never met. Mason shows up at her home and turns her world upside down. She is taken away from all she knows and holds dear and must learn to be happy in a totally new life. The romantic tension is what sets this book apart from other romances and there is plenty of it! Although Mason is angry and moody, there are glimpses throughout the book of his teasing and gentle...more

I browsed through the reviews here before downloading this at Amazon, and I was really disappointed with the story, especially Cassidy's character. She is by far the most annoying and tearful heroines I've read about. I tried to place myself in her own shoes and understand how one would feel if one's life was uprooted from home to live among strangers, and to marry one due to an arrangement.

My only consolation is I got it for free. I haven't reviewed books since the beginning of the yea...more

I have never read such a story that moved my very soul as this one. I had no expectations when I started. I hadn't even read the description. This story has quite changed me. I found myself unhealthly engrossed in the tension between these two characters. Why this has not made it to the screen is beyond me. I found it disturbing, heart wrenching, and most beautifully divine. The characters are written with such intimate detail, it was quite astounding. The secrets that bound these two fated hear...more

This was the first book by McClure that I read and loved it so much! I even read the good parts over the next day! I love all of McClure's books, they all have similar story lines, but still enjoyable.

This book was a strong 2 star book, despite my love of Ms. McClure's writing, until the ending salvaged it (somewhat.) Maybe it is because of the author's incredible ability to paint characters so well that they drive you NUTS! In "Shackles Of Honor", Cassidy Shea is a 17 year old who's life has been perfect, until she finds out she must marry a man she has never known about until he shows up to take her. Inspite of the fact that he is incredibly handsome, considerate, honorable and all other vi...more

OK, book club turned me on to McClure and her "clean romance" novels and I was skeptical at first... but dang, they are AWESOME books! This one in particular is my FAVORITE! In fact, I haven't read one of her books in a while, and I really need to get something of hers on my to-read list. If you haven't read this author yet, and you like "smut free" romance, then I recommend this book!

I normally don't rate the fluffy free romance books I get on my Kindle, but this was TERRIBLE. Both main characters are spoiled teenage brats with self esteem issues who spent the entire book arguing about who hates who more. For all his dedication to "honor", the guy is domineering, comes and goes as he pleases, and seems to have abusive tendencies as well. The girl is just stupid- spends the majority of the book crying about how horrible it is to be engaged to a hot guy and the other part of i...more

I LOVVVVVED THIS ONE!!! It's tied as my very favorite Marcia book with "The Visions of Ransom Lake". Marcia can write a brooding, jealous, passionate man like no one else, and I just ate it up! I loved the mystery of the story and why they were promised to each other. This was the least predictable of her books and, OHHHHHH! I just loved it!!!! =)

I really love this author!

Great historical romance that gave me goosebumps. Set in Scotland hunreds of years ago and quite remarkable. Great/funny characters! It's about duty, honor, insecurity, quiet love, passion (the good kind), mystery, loss...all the great things. It made me laugh in several spots.

This book was just weird for me. I've only recently begun to dabble into the regency romance genre, and I thought this book would fit the bill. And maybe I'm just not sure what "regency" is exactly, but this was more like a cross between a harlequin romance (I think anyway. I've never actually read one.) and Dallas (yes, Larry Hagman) and the Twighlight Zone. It seemed strange that the characters were supposedly sincere and yet they constantly referred to each other as "my dove" and "my angel" a...more

This is my Favorite book by McClure!! It is probably my most favorite book I've read just for fun. She is a great clean romance novelist!! Everyone i've recommended it to has loved loved loved it. Be aware, it's just for a fun giggle like a teenage girl book!!!

This is a great book. Although Cassidy Shea whines through almost the whole book she's hard not to like and Mason Carlisle is such a great character. Love the romance and great action and suspenseful parts. Love Marica Lynn McClure!

Again, I loved this book. This is my other favorite from this author. I read this book and then re-read parts because it was easy to visualize what was happening and again, even though this is a clean book, you feel giddy for the girl.

Another enjoyable read! The story does drag just a tiny bit in terms of the heroine vascillating between he loves me-he loves me not ideas. She can't seem to grip that he does love her. It gets a bit tiresome to see progress made between the characters just to turn the page and have her back at it again, but the story is great!!

Cassidy finds out she is betrothed to a man who she believes despises her. She, naturally, starts to fall in love with him, but fights the feelings in an effort to keep h...more

I just finished this one and true to Marcia Lynn's form, she didn't disappoint me! These books are hard for me to put down and I do have to complain that I do lack sleep until I get finished with one!

My sister recommended this book! I started it at 8:30 the other night and stayed up until 2:00 in the morning!! It is so great! If you like romance novels than you will love this book! So, So great!

This book is pure romance. It is clean, but very passionate. Definitely gives you butterflies. I loved it. Marcia Lynn McClure's books are all like that. She is one of my favorite authors.

I couldn't put this book down and loved the romance of it all. The poetry in it is beautiful and i love the time period.
One thing that did bug me was how it kind of dragged on about how Cassidy didn't think mason cared about her and how he seemed angry all the time. I think it would have helped to hear things from mason's pov like Marcia does in her other books. The main characters just argued too much throughout the book. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is how it dragged on w...more

Amazingly well done Marcia! I loved it. I hope to own this book someday. I'm sure I'll want to read it again.

While I sometimes got frustrated with Cassidy and her lack of self confidence,I still thoroughly enjoyed this tale. The imperfections in the two main characters made them seem more real to me. The whole concept of the pride that keeps the characters from sharing their true feelings for each other was fun to explore. I had also not thought about how an arranged marriage might make it harde...more

the best, in my opinion of Marcia's books. All of her charecter girls are young, but I find the realationship of the hero and heroin wonderful--as they learn to trust each other.

I like to call these books by Marcia Lynn McClure my Chick Lit! These books are easy reads but they always make me laugh. I'm a sucker for the whole Damsel in distress thing.

Okay, so this was one of those love stories that I was mad when it ended! It was so good, that I just didn't want the pages to be done! I love a good clean romance!

My favorite romance! I love a hero that is strong and honorable, saves his lady but never compromises her. My favorite Marcia McClure and I am a huge fan of her books!

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Marcia Lynn McClure grew up influenced by the reminiscent stories of rugged, rural Colorado farm life fascinatingly recounted to her by her parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts…tales of runaway buckboards, mule-drawn plows and dust pneumonia; verbalized images of stream-flooded meadows, frozen over in winter, where a child could peer through the crystal clear ic...more
