This book was published in the mid-1980s. so in some ways it is pretty dated, but most of the body image/beauty standards stuff is still relevant today (and in some ways even worse), so it's still worth a read. Some of the theory made me feel like I was in way over my head, but I really enjoyed the interviews with women discussing the impact of the social construct of beauty on their lives.
