This series never ceases to amaze me. I love it and is quickly becoming my favorite series. So fifth book of Psychic Eye Mystery brings more action and thrill. Im glad our heroine toned her attitude down a bit here, though there are occations when i wanna shake her.
Oh and I LOVE Dutch. Im glad they reconciled on the fourth book. He's just sweet and im glad they are finally trying to compromise when it comes to their relationship. Relationship sure aint easy.

This was my first read of Victoria Laurie's Abby Cooper mysteries and it was entertaining, cute, fun and had a good crime theme going on. I, like some others, don't read romance novels, but I liked the slip in for Abby's relationship with her boyfriend although he does put up with a lot of her "stuff". She is quirky. She does seem a rather spacey woman to get herself involved with such dangerous villains. Lucky she stays alive during it all. A light spoofy kinda read, I think. Being a psychic my...more
In this installment of the psychic eye series Abby finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation. Two, actually, and neither of them very recent. When Dutch asks her to look into some cases for him, she accidentally gets a hit on one that's already been solved. The only problem is, the wrong guy is doing time. Now Abby's gone undercover in a crooked loan business and it might be more dangerous than a bullet to the chest.

The two stars are for Candice, since it was nice to see that character filled out a bit.
But if this had been the first book of this series I'd read, it would have been the last. She did neither of her main characters Abby (represented in this book as a flighty selfish self absorbed adloescent bimbette) or Dutch (Can't wait to see what he does if they have kids and she doesn't like one? put it in a car trunk and ditch it in a lake? or maybe foist it on his mother?) any favors in this book. In Royal Oak, Michigan Abby Cooper has physically recovered from almost dying from a gunshot wound, but mentally remains despondent as her psychic skills failed her. She remains in the house of her FBI Agent boyfriend Dutch Rivers and has not returned to work doing readings as she suffers from post traumatic stress syndrome. Private Investigator Candace calls to rent space from Abby while Dutch asks her to read three cases that have stymied him. Dutch's former partner police detective Milo menti...more
One of the things I enjoy about this series is that the characters have to live with the consequences. Abby got shot in the last book, so she is still having some problems. Candice her client/friend has moved to town and now she has a professional partner in investigating crimes. There was more mystery/detecting than the previous book. I enjoyed reading about Abby trying out to be a real sleuth going undercover for the first time. I also really liked that Candice is a kickass no-nonsense type g...more

This is the 5th Abby Cooper mystery book. I love a good mystery, and this series always has a good one... and a whole lot more too.
I picked this book up off my bookshelf on Monday night, and finished it last night. I was really hooked on it. Man, couldn't put it down and wanted to get back to it.

Whodunit? Abby is at it again, but this time she has a partner--Candice , her PI friend is moving into the office next door and they are teaming up to solve murders. Dutch has to work overtime to keep Abby safe and healing because three months ago she was shot, died and came back to life. Evil mortgage lenders are taking advantage of people and involved in extortion and murder. The race is on to see who will catch them first, Abby or Dutch.

While the storyline of this book was not as good as previous ones, the dynamic between Abby and Dutch and Abby and Candace makes up for any lacking direction. I love Abby and Candace together, working to solve a case. Abby's radar skills and Candace's PI skills work so well together and they manage to solve two old cases in one book! And Abby and Dutch together is so awesome. While they both frustrate each other they definitely love each other and want to be together which is so sweet and fun to...more
Simply put...I LOVE this book! Crime Seen by Victoria Laurie is the best one I have read in the series so far! This installment seamlessly picks up with the previous one left off, up with Abby recovering from her wounds and struggling with her confidence. I liked the addition of a sidekick for Abby, Candice the PI. Other loved characters also make an appearance: Dave, Milo, Theresa, and of course, Eggy! The intricate plotting around the mortgage company showed a lot of research and how things ca...more
Crime Seen begins with Abby living at Dutch’s place while she heals from the gunshot wounds she received in Killer Insight. Abby seems less sure of herself in the beginning and her business seems to have dwindled down to nothing. While looking at some closed cases for Dutch, she comes across a cold case of a murdered police detective and her radar goes haywire. She’s convinced that the man in prison for the crime is innocent.

In Crime Seen Abby is staying with Dutch while she recovers from her injuries. He gives her a few case files to look at to see if her "guides" offer any tips or leads he can follow. He and Milo are preparing for the parole hearing for a man who confessed to killing a cop. These two cases become mingled when Abby searches for clues. Not sure if her psychic mojo has been lost or not, she's uneasy about starting back with her clientele. So, to save some money, she offers to share space with her fri...more

I love Victoria Laurie's' Physic Eye Series! This book was no exception to that or to the series itself. I have enjoyed all of her books and the first 4 every book kept getting better and better! I was although a little disappointed with this one, there was less mystery and more romance, don't get me wrong I love the mystery romance novels but I liked how she kept the romance kinda a mystery as well, it's like the heart of the book was romance with a little mystery, I much preferred it the other...more
Another Victoria Laurie hit! Her books are fun, easy to read & entertaining. As with her other books, I read this book in one day. I feel like Abby Cooper finds trouble wherever she goes, but I guess without Abby's troubles, there would be no story. No story, no book. So, while all the trouble Abby finds herself in is always far fetched, the reads are always entertaining and interesting! I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to finishing the series & seeing what trouble Abby finds h...more
A solid entry into the Abby Cooper series. It is nice to see both Abby and Dutch growing up a little in regards to their relationship committment issues and how they handle their own insecurities. Abby gets into another dangerous mystery or two in Crime Seen, and she has Candace from the previous book along from the ride. Candace is a nice addition to these books and she is really smart, which Abby needs in her life considering her own impetuousness. A good, quick read.
Unfortunately my least favorite of the series so far.
I still like Abby, a lot! I really like how Abby and Candice work together and I hope they work on more cases together.
My problem is Abby and Dutch. I'm still not feeling their relationship. The authors hints at a commitment issue from Abby but I always thought it was Dutch who had a commitment issue and Abby just an independent and impulsive streak.
I really like that the author leaves an unfinished case for the next book.

While Abby is recovering from her gunshot wound and wondering why her "crew" didn't warn her in time, she finds herself teaming up with Candice who's a PI and helps her investigate some cold cases brought to her by her boyfriend Dutch. She comes across a case that calls to her more than any other and proceeds and when things get dicey for the two they lean to Dutch to help them find the bad guys. A great read and adventure one that pulls you wondering if Abby will get back to where she was prior...more
This a great series! Abby Cooper is a good at heart girl at heart who means well but does dumb things. She has crazy characters in her life (including the dog) that give her the run around and direct her like she’s not capable & yet she handles it all. Each book progresses form where the last left off but even if you miss one, you can still catch up pretty quickly. They are easy, relaxing, funny & entertaining light reading. No heavy lifting required here.
I loved this book right up until the ending. I know this is a work of fiction but the ending just goes to show how pets are considered a throw away commodity. Abby does not get along with her boyfriends cat so he gives the cat to his mother and adopts a puppy. So when the puppy chews up her favorite slippers is he going to replace the puppy with a stuffed puppy? Any man that would give up his pet for a woman, and vice versa, is not worth having.
A couple of "If I'd only known what was coming" lines - hopefully this is just a writing phase of Ms. Laurie's that has now run its course. Not a tukus in sight, but we're back to a bupkes or two (really, I must make it to Massachusetts to listen to the slang and idioms).
Liked the story, relieved that the shrillness of previous books in the series has been toned down.
I guess that this means that the writing continues to get better with each attempt.

The investigation part was decent. The part where Abby keeps lying to Dutch, keeps running rings around him, well... yeah, not so fond of those parts. While she did have her reasons, it was kind of annoying to see her lying all the time. And the resolution to the lying seemed so... light to me. But the mystery itself was all right. Not that great, but not all that bad either, which seems to be my perpetual refrain for this series.
I don't know why I'm still reading this series, because I really am on the fence about whether I like Abby or not.. leaning more towards the not side. And definitely NOT when it comes to her boorish overbearing boyfriend. The only recurring character in this series that is likeable is Abbys sister Cat. I really LOVE Victoria Lauries Ghost Hunter Series and am paitently waiting for the next one to come out. Maybe that is my problem. I compare Abby to MJ whom I love. Abby just seems weak and const...more

Hummer car chases. Kidnapping. Murder. CIA, FBI, and a lot of time in jail. Ah, Abby. The conundrums you get yourself into. Sometimes, I think, your refusal to listen or ask your guides is your undoing. But at least Dutch is a true blue guy, because you can try the patience of a saint! But we, the loyal readers of your series, can't wait to see what happens next! Onto the next book and happy reading everyone!
I enjoyed this 5th installment, where Abby teams up with her friend, Candice, (a Private Investigator) to solve several cases. Abby goes undercover at a Mortgage firm and helps solve the crime of who murdered Milo's old partner, and the murder of a CIA agent.
There was a lot going on in this book, so it will pay off to pay attention to the story line. I adore this series and cant wait to start the next

Another enjoyable installment of the series. I totally enjoy the inclusion of Candice, a great secondary character. Abby and Dutch are seem to get pretty strong in their relationship. I am loving this series. I think it's probably my favorite so far because it seems that some of the plot loose ends are making way to the next book. So, it is a great opener of continuation of cases ...
Kalamazoo is not 517...it used to be 616 and now is 269. Details again!
This mystery was a bit more interesting. Shan, the villain wasn't blatantly obvious, but a decent resolution. The secondary mystery wasn't solved and I'm hoping the next book follows up.
I like the team of Candace and Abby. I also like how Teresa still pops in every now and then.
