Kayla has no recollection of her life before she turned thirteen, but she is plagued by vivid dreams or visualizations of events in ancient Egypt.
On a very ordinary night out with her friends, Kayla meets an Italian man named Paulo, who captures her attention in a big way. She cannot shake the feeling that she has known him intimately before, even though she knows they have never met. They go to his palatial home and indulge in very romantic and passionate sex. The intensity of their burning des

From the first page "The Curse of Nefertiti" ensnares both the heart and mind. Ms. Ratcliff tells this story with marvelous simplicity, her writing an unforgettable tale about love, love lost and love reborn. This story will suck you in with it's power. Once you start to read you will not be able to set it down. Truly an addictive tale with a smattering of history intertwined, you can't help but wonder..."What does Ms. Ratcliff have up her sleeve next?"

But maybe four stars for romantic fantasy buffs; five for those buffs who also haven’t had a hot date for a very long time. The Curse of Nefertiti is in a women’s genre that I seldom read (being a grizzled male writer described by one critic as “Evelyn Waugh with a claw hammer”). However, I did read the book after seeing positive reviews and the novel’s prologue on the author’s web site. I am rating the novel here in terms of my ill-informed take on makes a novel stand out within the romantic ...more

From the moment I picked up this book, the pages seemed to fly by.

Kayla is plagued by visions of a past life, one in which she is an Egyptian queen. As she meets Paolo, the passion between them sizzles and the connection between them flares. Deep down in her heart, she recognizes him as her reincarnated husband. Shortly after she realizes this, she recalls her true purpose: to save Egypt from the peril that happened in the past. However, if she returns to the past to fulfill her destiny, there

I recently received the book “The Curse of Nefertiti” by new author Charline Ratcliff. Her book is about the spirit of Queen Nefertiti, one of Egypt’s greatest queens. Egypt lies in ruins and Queen Nefertiti allowed it to happen. The Queen cries out to the Gods and they take pity on her and send her spirit into the future, into the body of a woman named Kayla. The author’s character of Kayla is a great person who has been burned by a man in the

As a strong believer in reincarnation and Egyptophile whose visits to the Pyramids and Sphinx were major highlights of my life, I knew this book was written for me—and for kindred souls.

Kayla is a notary who handles residential loan closings in Phoenix. But her soul is much older than her physical body, and it lived millennia ago, in Egypt, where her mother was Isis. Kayla is the reincarnation of Queen Nefertiti.

Kayla’s life on this earth finds its purpose when she meets her soul mate, Italian b

Recommends it for: Everyone
Absolutely LOVED this book. Loving history, and all things Egyptian, I was drawn in immediately by the title. Add a writing style that is sophisticated yet down to earth and the pages fly by as if you're having a conversation with the main character, Kayla. I found myself entranced by the story, not able to put it down until I knew what was going to happen next. There are moments I laughed aloud, found myself crying at certain scenes of tragedy and loss, and often was on the edge of my seat at ...more

I am a big fan of Egyptian art and history and have been for many years. Curse of Nefertiti is a book guaranteed to keep your attention throughout the story. It offers great insight into a fictional take on Queen Nefertiti as her spirit is sent into the future to seek out the man she loves and rights her wrongs. The detail to the story is incredible, the strength in the relationship between Kayla and Paolo was intense which made you pull for the couple as Kayla struggles with her identity and ...more
