I'm not really sure how a person could possibly not love this book. For one, it's about secret spy kids. For another, it's awesome and hilarious. And finally (as if that weren't enough), it's about chocolate. Need I say more?

I also would like to add that I am pretty sure Pseudonymous Bosch and I are soul mates. It seems from reading this book that his love of dark chocolate is nearly as passionate as mine (from Q&A in the book's appendix: "Q: What is dark chocolate?" "A: Heaven on Earth."),...more

This is a great book series for young adults (10-18) who like intriguing books without having adult themes (sex, drug use, mature language.) My daughter (11) is already reading at a high school/college level, and it's hard to find appropriate books for her. This author is hilarious.
This is such a great book!!! You never know what is going to happen next so it makes you want to just keep reading! But the ending sucks! They don't tell you the answer to the big problem, they leave you hanging but that was the last book in that series!!!
Once again the Secret Series did not fail to deliver. This book was a great read. Pseudonymous Bosch has a funny way of placing chapters out of order. The first chapter is actually chapter fifteen (I think.) This is interesting because it is like watching one of those movies where they start out with the climax and you get really intrigued, but then it goes back to the beginning and explains how they got to that climactic moment.

Anyhow, in this book Cassandra's mother is kidnapped and Cass, Max...more

This Book is Not Good for You, Pseudonymous Bosch

This Book is Not Good for You is the third puzzle-filled book in The Secret Series, in which Cass and Max-Ernest, two brave 11-year olds, set out to fulfill some very perplexing—and dangerous—missions.

What’s the ‘secret’ this time? I’m not allowed to tell, but it has to do with the most delicious chocolate in the entire world. And it gets better from there. Once her suspicions are aroused, Cass discovers the dastardly Ms. Mauvais is masquerading a...more
This Book Is Not Good for You is about 3 people, Cass, Max-Ernest, and Yo-Yoji, who are brought into this dangerous adventure of getting Cass's mother back from the evil chocolatier Hugo. She is kept at a hidden chocolate plantation at the Wild World zoo in Africa where the Midnight Sun has held Cass's mother as a hostage. Soon they will find themselves caught in a trap, putting their own friendships at stake.

I gave This Book Is Not Good for You 5 stars because it's a great mystery book and is t...more
I really enjoy this author (whoever they really are!) Just make sure you have some chocolate to eat while you read it because it talks all about chocolate!

Well, I’ve done what I recommend students not do: begin a series with a book other than #1. I have not read the first two books, but I picked up this one because it was the most recent…and—ok-- I really didn’t realize it was a series. So, starting off with that deficiency, I still had no difficulty getting into the book. The Midnight Sun, the enemy, is trying to figure out a Secret that the Terces Society is trying to prevent them from getting. Cassandra is at the center of the Secret, but she...more
Book Talk: Cass and Max-Ernest are up against their deadliest enemy yet: chocolate! But not just any chocolate (regular chocolate is only dangerous to Max-Ernest with his allergies) this chocolate is so pure and strong that it can send you back in time--and it can only be made with a tuning fork, but not a regular, musical tuning fork, an ancient Aztec magic device that has been brought to Africa, or is it Central America, and well, maybe you shouldn't read this book anyways, after all it's cert...more

This book to me is really one of a kind. I remeber reading one of his books about a year ago. It's addicting and ive been waiting for more of his series to come out ever since. It takes about a year for one of his books to come out so yea...
This genre most likely fit in to adventure and mystery. i usually dont like adventurous books but the way the author write this book using humor, pictures really caught my attention alot.
One of the theme that i can relate to is staying strong and never give...more
Summary: In this delicious third installment of the amazing Secret Series, Cassandra and Max-Ernest have to beat an evil chef, rescue enslaved kids from a chocolate plantation, and find a mythical tool known as the Tuning Fork.

My thoughts: This book is the third book in one of my all-time favorite series!! And it has chocolate!! With awesome characters, an interesting adventure and chocolate, this is an excellent combination!

Well, since this book wasn't good for me in the first case maybe I shouldn't be giving a review and encouraging others to read it anyway. So hear what, I wont say anything about that sweet little kid who wanted to know who her real mother was; or her two friends, one allergic to everything it seems and the other Japanese one; or her adopted mother who I guess was just trying to do the best she could as a mother; or her two totally strange grandfathers; or the junk shop; or the 'blind' chef; or t...more
Once again I turned to the secret series when I ran out of library books. Again the best part of the story was irreverent writing style and the many comical footnotes. It felt that this book was a filler in the series since the overall plot to the series (preventing the Rising Sun from finding the secret) wasn't really pushed forward in this book. Maybe I would have enjoyed the book more if I would have had some chocolate on hand when I read it. A fun clean read that I am sure the target audienc...more
I'm really enjoying this series. Each book is a mystery based on one of the five senses. This particular one was taste.

I was impressed at how much I was pulled into the tension of Cass's problems with the tuning fork and rescuing her mom from kidnapping. I figured that the adventures would always stay outside of her mother's knowledge. So it was an interesting surprise when she got kidnapped and the author didn't try to press the reset button on me. (You know, something made her forget... or som...more

The book "This Book is Not Good for You" is the third book in the Secret Series. Compared to the first two books, this book is very similar in terms of plot. There is a small introduction, then a main mission which basically takes up the whole book, and a small ending which explains what happens to the characters.
Cass had found out that she was adopted. Naturally, she would be upset with her "mom" about not telling her sooner. In this book, she still is. So when her mother is kidnapped by an ev...more

I'm not going to lie, the only reason I picked up this book to begin with is because of the cover and the fact that it was about chocolate. I didn't realize that it was a third book in a series, which was a bit of an obstacle, but other than that it was a really fun old-fashioned adventure story.

One of my favorite elements in this book was the amount of diversity in it. There were Asian people, LGBT people, single mothers, divorced parents, and all other sorts of groups and family situations rep...more

The series just continued brilliantly and I could not get enough of Cass and Max-Earnest and the Terces Society.

Although I am 20 years old and this series is clearly meant for a younger audience I read these books so quickly.

The characters are fantastic, the storyline is fantastic, the writing style is fantastic and I just couldn't believe how excited I got reading this. The way the author (whose pseudonym is brilliant by the way) connects with the reader is just wonderful and I have shared thi...more
By far the best book in the series in my opinion. A mix of humor, adventure, and mystery. All added up to create an amazing book.
The fun continues in book three of the Secret series. Bosch continues his wild "breaking through the third wall" style of writing with both visual and literary "special effects" without ruining the continuity of the tale itself. If it weren't for all the humor, the story itself would go hopelessly dark, but P.B. make it work masterfully.

In this volume, the Midnight Sun is in hiding following their temporary defeat in book two. Their nefarious plans continue with the enslavement of orphans, forci...more
I like chocolate, but not poisoned chocolate, LIKE IN THIS FANTASTIC BOOK!!1

Cass and Max-Ernest from The Name of This Book is Secret are back in another sense-filled adventure as members of the secret Terces Society. Cass and Max-Ernest have been inducted into the Society as agents keeping the world safe from the evil Midnight Sun, people who will stop at nothing (even murder!) to carry out their plans to live forever. Their previous adventures involved the senses of smell and sound. This time around, it’s taste, and what tastes better than chocolate? Nothing!

After learning a secret about herself, Cass lashes out at her mother while they are at a cooking class. She blurts out harsh and hurtful words then wishes she could take them back. But before Cass can apologize, her mother is kidnapped. Shortly afterwards, Cass receives a ransom note from the cruel chef, Señor Hugo. To save her mom Cass has to find a magic tuning fork — in two days. She must deliver the fork, which is said to possess unholy powers, to Chef Hugo. And she is also instructed to ke...more
Kolmas kirja Pseudonymous Boschin salaisuussarjassa. Cassin äiti on kidnapattu ja Cass, Max-Ernest ja Yo-Yoji syöksyvät pelastamaan häntä. Kidnappaajien, salaseura Midnight Sunin, oikea kohde on tietenkin Cass ja matkalla valmistetaan maailman parasta suklaata, suklaata, mikä ei ole aivan vaaratonta...

This Book is Not Good For You is the third book of the “The Secret Series” series. This book was just as good as the last book, but there were a few new character I didn't read about before because I didn't read the second book. A new character I've read about was called “Yoji”. Yoji is Japanese and in the book he is Cass’s friend. In this book Cass’s mother, Melanie, is captured by a chief called Senor Hugo. Cass and her two best friends, Yoji, and Max-Ernest needs to find Senor Hugo’s hiding p...more
The Pseudonymous Bosch books are somewhat, but not hugely, popular in my school library. I borrowed the 3rd book and read it on my Kindle, to see what the book is about and who I want to recommend it to.

Cass, a girl who is a member of the Terces Society, tries to unravel some of her personal mysteries. After her mom is kidnapped, she and her friends are forced to fight the evil Midnight Sun organization. Bosch masterfully wraps up the kidnapping mystery, moves the series plot forward, and leaves...more
The book I am going to tell you about is called "This Book Is Not Good For You!" It is by Pseudonymous Bosch. This book is about a girl named
Cassandra, a boy named Max-Ernest,and a boy named Yo-Yoji. Between those strange names are adventure. They are on a mission from the Tecres Society which means the Secret Society if you say Tecres the opposite. Ooooops!!! I just spilled a secret from the book that you must enjoy! The mission is to stop the midnight sun from getting the tuning fork which ca...more

Pseudonymous Bosch is the anonymous pseudonymous author of the Secret Series. Not much is known about him other than that he has a passionate love of chocolate and cheese and an equally passionate hatred of mayonnaise. Rumors of Boschian sightings are just as frequent and about as reliable as reports of alien abductions. If you ever meet anyone claiming to be Pseudonymous himself he is almost cert...more

“You know, people always warn children about taking candy from strange adults. But they never warn us adults about taking candy from strange children.
All those sweet-looking kids who sell boxes of candy bars on the street to help pay for schooling - how do we know what's in those bars? And don't even get me stated on that nefarious institution designed to lure unsuspecting customers into buying mysterious frosted goodies: the bake sale.
Adults, be warned: if a child wanted to poison you it would be a piece of cake! Literally a piece of cake.”
