I actually got this book from the UEA (Utah Education Association) fair where the author had a booth and handed me her two books and a dvd for free. I didn't realize what I was getting at the time but since I was given them and heard the books were about a woman who does humanitarian work in Zambia, Africa I was intrigued. Reads like a personal travel journal; did this, did that. BUT, it's a touching story, written to help an African man who pleaded with the author to help him afford his dream of going to a University. It will be interesting to follow up & see if the goal was reached. Teaches the difference one courageous voice can make. Helps one appreciate all that they have, learn to work hard and live on less. Enjoy reading about a different country & culture!

My grandma gave me this book for Christmas, and I read it just to see what it was about. I loved it! It's about a little white girl from the US and a little black girl from Africa and their uncanny friendship. It's a travelog of sorts, when the white woman takes to Africa to visit her dear friend, and all the new things that she experiences. Amazing.

The story was more than mildly interesting (but not fascinating); the grammar was a bit painful, and the writing wasn't impressive.
