I was trying to think how I could present this marvellous study in paranoia and obsession to the non-chess-playing reader - and, the very same day, we saw Black Swan.

I do like the way Kasparov writes - and there is something fascinating about his 'claustrophobic' relationship with Karpov ... the grudging respect, veiled accusations of 'cheating' etc!
