I have a disabled TV since almost 2 weeks, I guess that was since the boys (my sons) have finished their school ... Yes, we have only one TV in my 2 floors apartment (duplex) because I insisted on this setting since before I got married, although we had 2 TV sets in my family house and same went with my husband's family house ... I've always thought of a TV as a source of distraction... I never wanted to see me, daddy and the boys mesmerized infront of TV sets in different rooms of the house ...more

I have a three month old son that I try to read to nightly. He's at the point where he's starting to stay awake for longer hours and although my little boy is still really tiny, he's learning how to fight sleep. Nursery rhymes and fairy tales are things that we typically grow up on. We have learned them as children and we had recited them in schools for rainy day fun. I read through this with my two-year-old daughter, story by story, night by night, over the course of a few weeks. She enjoyed it, and so did I--though there were times that the Disney character replacement made for a weird read. For example, my daughter is already familiar with the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, so reading about Little Red Riding Minnie was confusing to her. In the end, I ended up just reading it as Little Red Riding Hood and it was more easily accepted.

Disney put their spin on some classic Fairy Tales and Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes in this fun collection. My daughters really enjoy being read to out of this book at sleeping times. It was great to help my oldest understand that there are different versions of the same story out there (eg Tangled vs Minnie Mouse as Rapunzel vs the original). Great for the family library!

The first collection of stories/rhymes we read to Kaitlyn after she was born. Love the Disney twist with the characters being inserted into the fairy tales and the illustrations are darling.
