In 2008, Christian Siriano made headlines as the youngest designer to win the hit reality series "Project Runway." But the now twenty-three-year-old is bigger than a TV celebrity. From his prodigious fashion talent to his one-of-a-kind personality, Christian is the embodiment of fierce style.
Now in his first book, he helps readers discover how to look, feel, and...more

I am a huge fan of Project Runway and was rooting for Christian Siriano during season 4. He was so entertaining and added a spark to each episode. This spark has completely translated into sharing his knowledge of fashion.

Christian’s new book Fierce Style: How to Be Your Most Fabulous Self is for every woman. The book is not geared toward size 2 fashionistas but is full of relevant and doable advice. Are you in love with the latest look from a top designer? Christian not only takes a...more

I don't watch Project Runway, so I wasn't familiar with Christian Siriano although I recognized who he was and had actually seen him walking around West 14th St. But I have a few acquaintances who are fond of Project Runway, so I was curious to see why Christian Siriano was so popular. When offered the chance to review his Fierce Style: How to Be Your Most Fabulous Self, I readily signed up.

Not being familiar with Christian, I wondered whether it would be self-congratulatory and smug...more

I've always been a fan of the quirky Christian, so when I was perusing my local Barnes & Nobel and found that he had written a book, I had to buy it.

I do have to say, this book screams "Christian". Whether or not that's a good thing is up to each reader to decide. The pages are riddled with his slang-my favorite being "hot tranny mess", purely for its ridiculousness.

To me, Fierce Style isn't a book meant to be dissected and inspected: it's meant to be...more

How I found this book: I saw a Tim Gunn single on Amazon and wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it so I read a few reviews. Most said it was a shortened version of his full length autobiography/advice book. But then reviewers were mentioning this book. So I clicked over to Fierce Style and read reviews that were saying how they were surprised at how down to earth and humble this book is and what wonderful advice he gives for every size and price range. So I ordered it from the library.

Although the book is for the most part obviously ghostwritten, and liberally studded with idiotic trademark phrases that I'm sure are a lot more charming in person, there is plenty of real Christian in here. He lists Subway and T.G.I. Friday among his favorite places to eat, advises all women to wear heels all the time, and still has a place in his heart for Saved by the Bell. What do you think - was this tiny, marvelous, gay suburban Maryland kid a Screech or a Zack?

This book was fabulous. I don't mind that Christian Siriano would probably think I'm a hot mess, I loved all of his advice and stories, and I really dug his glossary. Everyone wants to know what 'hot tranny mess' means, right? I've identified my signature looks: funky earth-friendly shoes (I only have 2 pairs of work shoes that were big investments for ME so I'm making them my signature), scarves, and cropped sweaters. Christian Siriano is flawless, lady. Trust.

A very fun fashion/style book from Christian Siriano that at times crosses into self help and memoir territory. Some of the lessons are kind of self-evident, but there is so much personality and fun in the delivery that I was willing to overlook any of the obviousness. I have not seen any of the season of Project Runway that Christian won, and now I'm interested in seeing that season.
My only complaint here is that there aren't enough pictures.

being a fan of PR i was already aware of Christian. not thinking he could fill a book of him just being himself was my wrong idea. book was very insighful with tips and relatable with his funny stories. when people usually do a how to style book its sometimes over a certain readers head. his book was very young and age appropiate to the school girls to the college and post college girl trying to get her career going.

Christian Siriano’s Fierce Style is a fluffy coffee table fashion book that stands out by recognizing that one size doesn’t fit all and talking not only style, but substance. If you like Siriano or want to develop your style a little, this is a cute read; otherwise, reserve it for that teenager in your life that needs a little confidence boost- it never asks you to be someone you’re not.

Silly fluff to read on my vacation. I'm a Project Runway fanatic and so I grabbed this off the new book shelf. I don't need the little 23-year-old to tell me that keeping a positive attitude and going out of my comfort zone will lead to success and happiness. Thanks for the super original words of wisdom, dude! Great pictures though! And anything with Tim Gunn quotes is worth skimming at least!

Christian Siriano's book is one part style manual, one part bio, and one part self-esteem guide. Christian gives practical yet sassy tips on how to get your fierceness quotient up. It's compact, colorful, and has a healthy does of humor. Definitely the perfect book for the up-and-coming or the self-proclaimed diva.

A bit more commercial then I would have liked, but definitely spreading a message that I wish would catch on a little more.
