Now, I can tell from a few pages in that this book is in no way going to increase my intellect with quotes such as "even from an early age I had decided that losing totally sucked". But I had to see my boy Pedro all the way thru just knowing the bullshit he put up with to get where he was. So you get this gist, this isn't a book if your looking to expand on SAT words, but to understand the meaning of WORK son!

Immediately the reader gets a view of why Pedroia has been so suc...more

This a was a very fascinating book about the best second baseman in the game, Dustin Pedroia. It was fun to read about all his troubles and issues growing up. He has always swung a bat even from a very young age. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes the Red Sox or sports in general as it really tickles your emotions. Pedroia has such a great sense of humor and its always fun to read about a hometown player.

What a riot. This account of Dustin Pedroia's life - and especially his life in baseball - is clearly told through his own words and his epic personality shines through on every page. The kid is a wonder and a fascination and so clearly a perfect favorite for me. Fun to remember so many of the milestones he mentions along the way - I was there, I was paying attention. Such fun; a great treat for any fan of Pedey and the Sox.

Javier - This book talks about Dustin Pedroia's Life.
Dustin Pedroia is a baseball player for the Boston Red Sox. He talks about his awards, childhood, college and school years, career, marraige and family. He went through many obstacles before arriving in the MLB (Big Leagues).

Michelle-This book is about the leagues.

An enjoyable and humorous book written by the Red Sox second baseman. He's a cocky little guy but you can't help but like him. Just watching him play a game is always fun. He gives it his all and you can't help [unless of course you are a Yankee fan:] but want him to do well.

I didn't know it was possible to love Dustin Pedroia more than I already did. Then I read this book and discovered it was possible. I may have also cried every time Terry Francona was mentioned.

Simple read, focuses on his battle to overcome preconceptions on height/size. Probably a good read for a teen that is struggling to make the team.

Not exactly high level reading, but a quick read. Good for Red Sox fans - it gives us hope that Pedey's got a lot of fight left in him. Hopefully he can stay healthy in 2011!

After I read the first chapter I was thinking, "here is just another sports star who is full of themself," but after finishing it I had a new perspective of Pedroia. Being a Sox fan and loving baseball in general, I have a hard time not reading anything with baseball in it. I love his attitude toward life and the game of baseball. It's always "I'm better than you, and I will beat your ass!" I read this book within 2 days and couldn't put it down.

I learned what Dustin Pedroia had to go through to get to where he is today. He is a get person and a great ballplayer. I love watching him play for the Red Sox.
