I like anthologies for the wide net they cast in bringing together sometimes disparate articles, and I enjoy the 'tip of the iceberg' perspective they have---it helps to realize that these aren't comprehensive and definitive collections. In my regular day-to-day reading life I don't normally read a wide--or even narrow--variety of political writing. To me politics is a lot like sports---there are sides to choose from, the fighting can be ugly, epic, and childish, and it doesn't really matter to ...more
Terribly disappointing. I'm a big fan of the Best Science & Best Non-Required Readings series, and I thought this would be of the same calibre. Am now confused as to who (if anyone?) owns the 'Best American' name
Great selections on the first year of Obama's administration and the economy.
A good anthology of the the campaign and early Obama days from publications I wouldn't normally read. Still quite current today.
