Five international vacationers, strangers to each other, misfits running from their daily lives, are brought together at the same small seaside Hotel of Dreams, by a rental scam, an international art heist, passion, murder and a haunting.

It had seemed like the perfect getaway for Malibu’s famous TV private investigator, Mac Reilly and his girlfriend/partner, Sunny Alvarez,

só me falta decidir qual o próximo a comprar.

Portanto, não me senti perdida.

Elizabeth Adler is a writer who specializes in romantic fiction and romantic mystery fiction with settings in exotic locations. Adler is an expert in describing a place so that it comes alive, and in There’s Something about St. Tropez, she writes a delicious send up of this luxurious tourist destination. The descriptions of food, wine, sunny beaches, and well-appointed hotels are so entrancing it almost doesn't matter what the story is about.

The story: Mac and Sunny, his fiancé plan a month long

Note: for me, 5 stars is phenomenal (and 4 is loved it)

I closed this book and exclaimed "now that was a true beach read!" My husband commented that I've said that only once before about a summery beachy chic lit type read.

I loved this story of connection and relationships that arise from the randomness of life. I truly enjoyed the silliness of the misfits and their mysterious antics around St. Tropez! It tickled me pink and left me with that warm fuzzy I've-had-a-touch-too-much-sun feeling!

A fun read, but not the best writing. A whodunit with a little adventure. In other words, mindless fiction, and I mean mindless.

Lightweight mystery. All the characters are gorgeous, rich, well connected and totally unlike anyone I've ever met in real life. Beach book.

This book is obviously set in St. Tropez, but it didn't give me the glamour vibe I expected. It is a mystery. It has some interesting characters. I finished it.

Ahhh, the guilty pleasures! All of the reviews for this book call it a great "beach read" but since I don't live anywhere near a beach, I like to think of them as my "camping reads"....great for something light and entertaining to read by the campfire or lounging in a hammock after a day of playing outside.

This is definitely a textbook "guilty pleasure" book - not much substance, but well written and intriguing. There is just enough romance to be "girly" but not too much to elicit comments from

Sometimes these fluffy books are surprisingly well-written and interesting, but I didn't think this was one of those books. First of all, there were entirely too many characters. Each of them had their own storyline and it got a bit confusing. I just didn't care that much about any of them.

The dialogue was a little bit unrealistic and formal.

I liked the kids and the dogs the best.

One thing that bugged me throughout - maybe it's an American conceit, but do they REALLY drink that much rose wine in

Of the three Mac Reilly series books by Elizabeth Adler that I've read in the last couple of weeks, "There's Something About St. Tropez" is definitely my favorite. And that's saying a lot because I loved the other two! Primarily, this was my favorite because of the band of "Misfits" that Mac and his fiancee Sunny meet and help while on vacation. This colorful cast of characters included two young children, each lost in his and her own way. The children were the heart of the story, in my opinion, ...more

This book is simply amazing. theres elements of mystery, romance, friendship; and it takes place in a remarkable location- st. tropez. the author did an amazing job of transporting you to the french riviera. the whole time i felt like i was right there sipping rose and having amazing french food with the characters. the characters were so well written and developed i felt like i knew so much about them. this is a great summer read for sitting on the beach, or if it is cold and rainy, it will ...more

This book was suggested to me by a fellow book group member. While the author's background in writing romance novels was clear, this book was entertaining and enjoyable light reading. The setting was wonderful. Who could argue with placing a mystery in St. Tropez? Actually there were at least three mysteries going at once, a lot of characters and side trips. A few times I had to suspend disbelief. Overall I enjoyed this one. Happy endings all around.

Elizabeth Adler's books are complete fluff, but good fun. If you can't afford to travel to places like St. Tropez, you can enjoy instead her detailed descriptions of the good life. Her characters are pretty stiff but she really excels at painting pictures of beautiful, quaint hotels and villas and the delicious meals eaten on their terraces. This one is not her best, but will amuse you on a Saturday afternoon.

It took me a long time to get into this book. The first half moved very very slowly. I also felt like too many new characters were introduced throughout. It was really hard to keep the main characters straight, much less who's who and connected to whom. I was very intrigued once I got past the first, slow half.

Although this book had a couple of instances of bad language and suggestive behavior, it wasn't too bad and I still found it pretty enjoyable. The story moved along quickly and the mystery was interesting. It was a good summer read. I would have given it 3 stars if it had been a little "cleaner." It wasn't great literature, but fun none the less.

I gave this book a 5 star because of how easy and fun it was to read. I enjoy a light hearted, romantic suspense novel- not too gushy with the romance, and chock full of fun intrigue that kept me turning its pages wanting more to the very end. Alas, I had to go and get her other books which have not disappointed me yet.

this book felt like I was reading a book. what does that mean. it means there are some stories you get so caught up in you feel like your are living it. but this book. it really felt like a I was just reading a book and not a very good one at that. I liked some of the characters and some I didnt. Dont waste your time reading this.

I grabbed this book thinking it might be interesting. It was a little overwhelming at first. Way to many characters and the story jumps all over the place. I felt like it actually got better towards the last few chapters. Some of the stories seemed to end and I wanted more. I will read more from Elizabeth Adler.

Loved it! It is light and easy. My life is so busy I need the light and easy reads. If you are hoping for some great literary classic this is not for you. But if you like a little romance with a mystery and some cute endearing children to add to the story, then you will enjoy. Short chapters to read when you get a short break from your busy life, to escape a little!!

I eagerly await Elizabeth Adler's newest book and this one didn't disappoint me. It was a little longer read than most of her books, but enjoyed it every step of the way. Enjoyed the characters, the destination, the subject matter ....... enjoyed it all. Interesting twist at the end about Bertrand's "mother".

This book is pure fluff! But what fun to read. Sometimes it is refreshing to read something that is just fun and relaxing. I didn't have to look for symbolism or hidden meanings or political propoganda or anything other that just enjoyment. And what a great place to look for enjoyment, the French Riviera!
