Kanye West teams up with co-author J. Sakiya Sandifer to make his literary debut with Thank You And You're Welcome, an entertaining volume of 'Kanye-isms'--the creative, humorous, and insightful philosophies and anecdotes used in creating his path to success. It captures the same wit, playful irony, and piercing insight found abundant in his lyrics.

ahhah this is a terrible book, no one read it.

Just the kind of book you'd expect from an author who "doesn't read." On the plus side, it is brief and direct especially the sections where Kanye speaks on his own arrogance and how he never censors himself. (Prophet!) On the down side, his mantras can be contradictory, one paging refuting the other but that's Kanye for ya.

I gotta say, I am having way too much fun pulling this book out at parties and having people pick a random Kanyeism and see how they can apply it to...more

It is clear that Kanye West intends to provide readers with valuable, helpful and, most of all, positive advice stemming from lessons he’s learned from his own life’s experiences. Not only does Kanye achieve this goal, but he also does so in a very concise and stylistically creative fashion.
Although I didn’t have some profound epiphany that would ultimately lead me to turn my life around and finally achieve a state of pure elation and total fulfillment as a result of reading this, some of ...more

Very short sweet and do the point. Rules of life and a guide to success. Mr. West give his usual ironic, egotistical witty "raps". Something great for a quick refresher course on putting your all into everything and how to deal with things that bug us. I am a big Kanye West fan and to read this uncensored look into the mind set of one of this generations infamous icons is truly a gift.

This tiny book came across my field of vision while I was at work. Because I have spent a lot of time thinking Mr. West is a very egotistical human being, and I wanted to have more ammunition, I decided to read it. I am still in shock at how much this little book not only inspired me, but also gave me some respect for this truly talented artist.

Like most artists, Kanye is driven by his work and takes great pride in what he does. I feel he is the embodiment of an Ayn Rand hero. Hi...more

I like the philanthropy of this book, I only wish it was extended and more of a detailed-read.

Got this when I saw Kanye in concert in...2008? Hard as he tries to make me hate him, I ain't mad at Kanye. I believe in his vision & appreciate his nerdy can-do attitude, for the most part. I relate to his obsession with design blogs, especially, and his love of white-girl models. Also, this book has some sentimental but ultimately practical advice. Takes a whole lotta swagger to get away with some of these nuggets, though: "If you wanna be the best you gotta be WITH the best!!!"

This book was enjoying to read. It shows everything that he has to go through in his daily life, and how he shows to everyone that he could come from the bottom to the top if he works hard at it.
