I'm torn between giving this a 1 or a 5. Many little girls will adore this. Personally, I want to know what the people at Mattel were smoking when they thought "For our next Barbie story, let's adapt a macho-dominated, racy French novel about adultery, dueling and l'honneur!" though the names were too difficult for Abby, the role of 'girls' in this world was powerful
The book made no sense at all. Bella enjoyed the pictures though.
Still on it.
While the Barbie easy readers are not my favorite stories, they are very simple. The only difficulty with the three musketeers story are the names. There are many difficult to pronounce names, but with a parents assistance, a beginning reader reading simple sentences would be able to read this book.
Barbie and her friends try to figure out a way to become a musketeer. They are hired to keep the castle clean and figure out that someone is out to harm the prince. They train to get ready for the day they need to rescue the prince. My daughter loves this story.
