Helpful sort of in the way her other book was: a good jump off point, but not much in the way of, I MUST IMPLEMENT THIS IMMEDIATELY and here all my specific ideas and details I got from this book! You know?

It makes you realize what you might be missing, or what you could be doing better, though.

Essential reading for any musician, band, manager, or entrepeneur thinking of their own record label. In my case, I was reading it for research. I'm writing a fiction series about a rock band - and I want it immersed in modern accurate aspects of the music industry. Indie, Small label, etc.

The organization of the material is clear and it makes a good reference for rapid thumbing.

Combine this with a few other books like Byrne's "How Music Works", Passman's "All You Need To Know About The Music

Lots of ultra basic generic info, repeated over and over. If you want details you should probably check somewhere else.
