Leave Me Breathless...more like ‘Leave Me Bewildered’ as to how to rate this. If I was rating this purely for the steam factor and frequent and explicit sex scenes, then it would earn a solid 5 because quite frankly, there’s not much else in its 181 pages. After reading Their One and Only, which is another provocative ménage tale by the same author, I had high expectations for this, but it just didn’t quite deliver. Leave Me Breathless...more like ‘Leave Me Bewildered’ as to how to rate this. If I was rating this purely for the steam factor and frequent and explicit sex scenes, then it would earn a solid 5 because quite frankly, there’s not much else in its 181 pages. After reading Their One and Only, which is another provocative ménage tale by the same author, I had high expectations for this, but it just didn’t quite deliver. Yes it’s a m/f/m ménage story and yes the sex is smokin’ H-O-T, but there’s virtually no character development or plot, and what little there is seems completely outlandish and unrealistic.

The story centers on two best friends, jovial, sweet ex-Navy SEAL Mitch and brainy alpha/Dom computer whiz Jake, who work for N.C.I.S and share women. They are tasked with providing 24/7 protective custody of a beautiful, intelligent civilian scientist working on a top secret missile project whose life may be in danger after her boss is kidnapped. Of course, it turns out that Tessa is the “one who got away” for both men and that they are both still in love with her...interesting coincidence. This is where I had the biggest problem with the story. The men have been best of friends since they were kids, are as close as brothers, and have shared all their women, other than her, and neither of them ever told the other about the woman they loved and lost? There’s the whole ‘can they share her, can she accept being with them both, and how will it work out’ issue, all while dealing with a threat on her life, but mainly, it’s a fairly weak story with lots and lots of risqué and erotic sex.

Their One and Only was an honest and thought provoking depiction of a loving, complex ménage relationship, and I had expected the same from Leave Me Breathless; but it’s not nearly as deep or well developed. What it’s got is plenty of hot m/f/m sex in all the ways imaginable (including a rather steamy scene involving very creative use of a key lime pie), so if that’s not your bag, then you best shop elsewhere. So, did it “Leave Me Breathless”? Not quite, but it left me hot and bothered enough for 3 ½ (almost 4) stars.(less)

I was a little disappointed with this one. After reading Their One and Only by this author and enjoying it, I was looking forward to something similar. And while both books were plenty explicit, I felt that "Their One and Only" had a bit more plot and character development, so I wasn't just reading one sex scene after another, held together with a pretty thin plot. I felt like I didn't really know the characters all that well, so I was not as invested in them as I would have liked to be. If the author put as much attention to detail into plot and character development as she did into the sex scenes, then this book would have been a winner. As it stands, it was just okay for me.

Tessa Williams is a pretty blonde, petite, brainy M.I.T. grad working as a civilian scientist on a secret missile project for the government. Her boss in charge of the project, Admiral Shore, has gone missing. The director of the N.C.I.S. thinks he's been kidnapped in order to get him to reveal the missile launch codes, and Tessa's father (who is also an Admiral) figures Tessa's life could be in danger too since she's the only other person who knows the codes. So he pressures the director to assign her a couple of men who work for the N.C.I.S. to 'babysit' her and to keep her in protective custody. The fact that the men, Jake Bradley, an M.I.T. graduate and computer specialist, and the other, Mitch Robbins, a former Navy SEAL and now investigator for the N.C.I.S. are not really 'bodyguards' doesn't seem to matter to the director--he wants these guys to watch over Tessa, no arguments.

Jake and Mitch have been buddies since childhood, sharing just about everything, including some women. Their careers took different paths for a while when Mitch was a SEAL, but after an injury that nearly took his life, he and Jake are together again working as N.C.I.S. officers. When they find out who they are assigned to protect, they are stunned. Each has had a past relationship with Tessa, but neither has ever discussed it with the other. Jake has no idea that Mitch met and fell in love with Tessa a couple of years ago while he was stationed in San Diego, and Mitch has no idea that Jake met and fell in love with Tessa after they broke up. Both think of Tessa as the one who got away. What a small world.

When Tessa sees who is assigned to protect her, she is blown away. These two guys were the loves of her life, and she regrets not being able to make it work with either. Muscular, black haired, blue-eyed Mitch was the playful rake who stole her heart, but then broke it when he chose his military career over her. And dark blond, brown eyed and equally buff Jake--he was the Dom who taught her to let go and allow someone else to be in control. She never forgot either of them, still carrying their pictures in her wallet. Oh boy, and now they're assigned to protect her? Think of the possibilities...

Well of course they all catch up, Mitch and Jake realize that they love the same woman, Tessa realizes that she still loves both of them (don't ask her to choose), and they head for a safe house in the Florida Keys until Admiral Shore turns up. At first the guys struggle with their feelings of jealousy and wonder if they can stand to see Tessa with the other, and wonder how they can make this situation work for all of them. Things heat up almost instantly between Jake, Tessa, and Mitch as you expect they would, and the guys profess it's okay with them whoever Tessa chooses--they'll always love her and be friends forever. Tessa, Jake and Mitch don't really seem too worried about the situation with Admiral Stone and the possibility that Tessa's life may be in danger--they are three of the most over-sexed characters I've read about in a while, and it seems every time I turned the page, one or more was going at it with Tessa. I was wondering if they'd ever take a break to eat or sleep!

When an attempt is made on Tessa's life, they finally seem to take it a little more seriously, but that still doesn't stop the bedroom antics. Tessa decides that she wants to share 'everything', and plenty of Tessa sandwichs are made. Whew. Things go so well, that all three of them feel that maybe they can make this a permanent thing. Now if they can just figure out who wants those missile launch codes...

Like I said, the book gets plenty hot, so if you don't want to read about three people getting together in ways you wondered if were even possible, then stay away from this one. Their sex scenes are imaginative (once using a Key Lime Pie) and occur so frequently, I wondered at times how poor Tessa was able to walk! If only the plot was as detailed. I pretty much figured out who the bad guys were from the start, and the only suspense for me was if Mitch and Jake were going to take the job of protecting Tessa seriously or be taken by surprise and die while in the thows of passion!

The conclusion had me shaking my head in wonder a time or two, and the epilogue had me thinking that these three were going to need a lot of help making a go of this relationship. I wasn't totally sold that there would be smooth sailing in their lives, but who knows? Stranger things have happened. Not a totally bad reading experience, but one I thought could be so much more. 3 1/2 stars.

Warning: This book contains explicit language and sex, including oral and anal, some food play, and a m/f/m menage. Not for the faint of heart!(less)

So... this is my first menage book... and OK then. <rotflmao> the plot was weak, felt more like I was watching NCIS meets Cinemax late night. The sex scenes were hot, and I liked both men, but MY GOD if I were her I wouldn't be able to walk! Every page was sex. sometimes with one, more often with both taking turns, and sometimes both at the same time. I don't think I'll look at keylime pie Quite the same way again :)

It appears that the only person besides Tessa, who has access to the new missile launch code, has disappeared. Mitch Robbins and Jake Bradley are best friends. Mitch is an investigator for NCIS and Jake their computer specialist. They are assigned to protect this female scientist and they are not happy about it, until they discover its Tessa Williams they need to protect. They both had dated Tessa, but never informed the other about that affair, it seems both men regretted letting her go.

Leave me breathless by Trista Ann Michaels is a great book full of danger, action and some smoking hot scenes.

Tessa is a beautiful, intelligent strong woman and her work is everything to her. But she knows that her job involves some risk and when her partner disappears, she has to go in hiding for awhile to lure out the one who is responsible. When she meets her two protectors, she’s shocked. Mitch and Jake are best friends and both had a brief relationship with her, she cannot ignore the fact that both are still very important to her.

During their hide-out they all discover that they want to act on that chemistry, but is it possible to choose between the two handsome men. Will she destroy their friendship when she chooses one or can they find a way to solve their difference and be together, the three of them?

This was my first book by this author and I have to say it was a pleasure to read it. This novel contains everything I like in an erotica romance novel, two handsome NCIS agents, a strong intelligent woman and their huge chemistry.

I’m definitely going to keep my eye on this author and see what she has in store for us in the future.

much like everyone else said this could have been really good if it was developed more. by the end you still know virtually nothing about the characters. the sex scenes were great, even if one or two of them i couldnt figure out logistically. its always a sad night when i am trying to figure out the mechanics of the sex. who knows maybe the men are just more bendy than i am?

its raunchy, very raunchy.
it was basically about sex with a side story of something about some warhead passwords. Seriously.

i honestly could probably write about the same kind of quality (and thats not saying much). There was no story here, just.. Sex. and a little bit of struggle with stealing the password.

Reviewer Shawna said it best with the line "Leave Me Breathless...more like ‘Leave Me Bewildered’ as to how to rate this." For the life of me I could not get into this book. The dialogue did not seem genuine, the characters were lacking, and the over abundance of sex was unnecessary. If your looking for a better read from this author I suggest "Their One and Only". There is a bit more character development and the dialogue is slightly more believable.

This one was just a smidge better than ok for me. It was a sweet little story of 2 men who share women all the time, but they each fell in love with Tessa separately. Through a crazy set of circumstances, they reunite with her as one and everything is just hunky-dory from there.

It is ok. It's a quick easy read where everything is tied up in a pretty little bow, but it doesn't have much depth.

Plot is poorly developed and there is more sex than storyline. This book was hard to finish, just didn't have enough plot for me to care how it ended. Very light easy summer read with Large print and lots or wasted page space. In other words it is about 100 pages long but stretched out to 181.
