I opened this book not knowing quite what to expect within the pages. I closed it not knowing quite what to expect when I looked up again at the world around me. The metaphor is not subtle. The story is one of cities, monsters, knights, trees of Life, and God, and it's one that would be quite easy to dismiss as outdated, lame, done before. But it isn't, because it's personal.
