I had mixed feelings about this book upon completion. On the good side, the author does a fairly good job of researching his information in order to make it an accurate historical novel. He incorporates actual quotes from Chief Joseph and his son fairly seamlessly; the only reason I knew they were actual quotes is because I've done a fairly extensive amount of reading on the actual history of the Nez Perce and their flight toward Canada.
