Okay so Dark Celebration the 17 th book in the Dark series is a special book. It is no one persons story but like a get together for all the past couples. All the Carpathians are coming home to the Carpathian Mountains to celebrate Christmas together at Raven and Prince Mikhail's request. This review will be full of spoilers because this book didn't really have a plot other then the party and each chapter was che

After the recent attack on his life, prince of the Carpathian people Mikhail Dubrinsky has called together all of the hunters and their lifemates for a Christmas celebration in the Carpathian mountains. For some time, his people have been hunted not only by vampires, but also fanatical humans from the Morisson Center for Psychic Research. Now a new threat has surfaced in the form of the evil dark mage Xavier and his grandson Razvan.

With enemies joining forces and surrounding his people, Mikhail

It may be that this series has run it's course for me. I really don't like the direction Feehan has taken, by adding MORE and MORE paranormal types. First, she added the world of the Jaguar. Then we got mages. Then Dragonseekers. And I see that in the next book, there are going to be werewolves. I just feel like the whole world she set up isn't the same anymore. And I miss the gothic romantic feel of the older books.

Really, with the exception of Book 11 (where the whole mage storyline

I absolutely love this book. It's brilliant!!

My favorite, favorite, favorite Carpathian book ever. The thing I love about reading series is getting to revisit all my favorite characters. Many times it's only a peek into the lives of one or two characters, but here Feehan has caught us up on the lives of all the Carpathians and I didn't want the book to end. I loved seeing everyone again, most especially Barack and Syndil, who I wish had their own book.

I enjoyed the setup for future lifemates, and am looking forward to Manolito and MaryAnn'

Oh good glory. I did this book as a playaway (digital audio book). I don't know who's brilliant idea it was, but they had a man narrate it. Not just a man, but a geezer sounding man. I have never laughed so hard in my life. Do you know how hard it was to listen to a geezer guy saying "he pulled her against the hard evidence of his bodies desires..."? rofl. Then his female voices were pitiful. omg. Never, never have a man narrate a romance book. Who's brainstorm was that, I want to know. The guy ...more

Nothing says Christmas quite like gingerbread cookies, twinkling lights, and an alpha male Carpathian rocking his lifemate's world. Seriously. I have a lot of Christmas romance novels I like to re-read for the holidays, but for some reason my favorite is Dark Celebration by Christine Feehan. This book is really only for long-term Feehan fans who have been following the Dark series since the beginning. It is really cool to see old favorite characters come together in the Carpathian mountains for ...more

Dark Celebration is a bit different than the other books within the Dark Series. However I have read this book quite frequently from the library, and I thought it was about time to do a review on it. For those of you who don't know much or really none about this series, let me explain it a bit for you. The Carpathian series, is a paranormal series, very similar to vampires, however Carpathians are a bit different from vampires. The Carpathian race is dying out, they are a honorable race, however ...more

I like my Carpathians and the ending was sad but gave hope. I like how the series is unfolding a new hope.

This book took me nine months to finish but not because it was boring but because school happend.

Looking forward to reading "Dark Possession (Dark #18)"

This book was a great way to tie all of the previous Carpathians stories together and it was a good family reunion. It was also a nice tie in to the next book, Dark Possession.

It was nice getting to see everyone interacting together, it made them seem more as race fighting for one goal rather than individual fighters.

Another Carpathian novel--Raven is determined to start a new tradition among the Carpathians by bringing as many of them together as possible to attend a Christmas celebration in the Carpathian mountains. We are given the chance to become reacquainted with many Carpathian couples--Nicolae and Destiny, Vikirrof and Natalya, Julian and Desari, Darius and Tempest, Barack and Syndil, Riordan and Juliette, Gabriel and Francesca, Byron and Antonietta, Jacques and Shea, Rafael and colby etc. as well as ...more

Dark Celebration is yet another fantastic addition and the 17th in Christine Feehan’s Dark Series. I am totally immersed into the world of the Carpathians and have grown to love all the characters that form a part of the family.

This story brings back together old and new friends together to celebrate Christmas together, which is filled with the love, loyalty and unity they all share. Its great seeing how the couples are doing, seeing their children growing and to feel their closeness as a family

Out of all the Carpathian books, I think this one is probably one of my favorites. All the characters from the previous books are back and you are able to see how their lives have changed since finding their mates.

It's Christmas time in the Carpathian mountains. That means the miracle of births and Santa Claus. Raven has convinced Mikhail to call all his Hunters back to the mountains for a celebration. Shae is about to give birth to her son and the Prince is on a quest to find a Santa. Every tim

One of the most anticipated books I wanted. Chapter 4 -- when Gabriel snatches his daughter's lifemate by the throat -- I was on pins and needles. That one chapter was worth the price of the hardcover! Plus, bless Ms. Feehan's heart Raven and Savanna kept to the background and the other lifemates held center stage. It was great having all the couples together in one book. I discovered a new appreciation for Natalyia in this book, a revisit with Jaxon and Lucian, Francessca was more than bearable ...more

I Loved this book in the series. All the Carapathians go back to the Carapathian Mountains to celebrate Christmas. there was no huge drama in this one, minor drama, but it was great to see all the couples and their children gathered in one place for Christmas. The females were trying to cook, craziness ensues as with any family holiday. New lifemates were discovered, but not bound to the males, showing where her next stories would go. A very lighthearted, but well written book in the series and ...more

I enjoyed this, even though I did not read all 16 books that came before it (I think I made it through about 7 or 8 of them). I liked the updates on couples I've read about and even the glimpses into the lives of the couples I haven't read about yet were enjoyable. There was just enough information to clue me in as to how they met, some of their trials, etc. I had forgotten how very ... attractive and passionate those Carpathian men are! I think this author is among some of the best writers in t ...more

This is a very long series (around 28 rigth now) that tell us the history of a group of people called "Carpatians", this men's & women's have powers and qualities, very similar to the vampires, they feed on blood, sleep in the ground during the day, talk with animals, change into others forms (like wolfs, birds, mist, etc), but they are born from a woman, like the human babies, and grow like a human baby, during the first years of their lifes, then when they reach maturity (some point betwee ...more

SPOILERS!!!!! I loved this book! It was so much fun to read and to check up on the couples I read about in the series so far. The story takes place not long after the major battle with Maxim and his accomplices. Raven wanted to throw a party to keep her mind busy from the oppressive worry of having her lifemate almost assassinated and the ever growing danger. She also believes that Carpathians need a reminder of what they are fighting for and I agree with her on that. Mikhail cannot deny her any ...more

A splendid little set of intersecting tales of romance and danger. Typical of Ms Feehan's writing, this multi-stranded book is a mix of adventure, romance, and erotica. It is less like most of the other "Dark" series books in that it contains multiple storylines, and does not concentrate on a single couple. For readers who have followed the series, it will be obvious that it comes right after the major battle between the Carpathians, the vampires, and the Dark Mage. However, it has enough explan ...more

Each chapter was dedicated to a different couple & some involved more the one, but all in all there wasn't a boring moment. Not a boring book for sure.

Somehow I got away from this series several years ago. This is the perfect book to return with. Everyone has gathered for a Christmas celebration and Mikhail has been visiting each couple to welcome them. It's also allowing me to remember their stories. The lead-in for Dark Possession , the next book in the series, is also part of the storyline.
Stupid Shiny Volvo Driver
Ms. Feehan brings almost all the Carpathians together for this story. I loved the story it revolves around, Gabriel and Francesca's adopted daughter Skyler, that we met in Dark Legend, and Dimitri, an ancient are destined to be lifemates but Skyler is way too young so it causes some major problems. I really enjoyed the battle scenes with Natalya and Vikirnoff. A good "where-are-they-now" follow-up of the series with some pretty exciting glimpses into a future book (don't you think it's about time Ms. Feehan wrote Dimitri and Skyler's story?).

But what makes this such a "treat" are the recipes at the end of the book. I haven't tried them yet, but they sure look Carpathian-like (read: mouthwatering).

I have always loved this book though more for the emerging storylines of Manolito and Dimitri than for any other aspect of the continuing dark story and revelations that are made. This is the book that spawns the hope for a brilliant story from Skyler and Dimitri although you'll have to wait a long time for it and to see whether it lives up to the hoped for hype. Not so long for the story of Manolito and MaryAnn. It's great just to catch up with all the couples in this story but I do feel that t ...more

This was wonderful. Filled with all the series characters that I love (and some I don’t). Everyone was there, fully involved. There were so many of the cool Carpathian talents and customs used in the story, along with concerns over their problems. Healing chants, cats, pregnancies, bossy mates, cooking fiascoes, everything. It felt like all the previous books brought together in one story.

*spoilers*

The main story is the preparation for a Christmas party celebration. Almost all the Carpathian
