Grace Slick and Gary Sinese could read a recipe and make it sound good. I can't remember anything about the story Sinese read but there is something about his voice. He can read me a bedtime story any day of the week.
Slick did a great job on "They Got a Hell of a Band." And it's a damn good story. Janice Joplin lives on!
"The Night Flier" is okay. I love the idea of a vampire with a pilot's license.

My wife and I listened to this on CD while driving for the holidays. It contained 4 short stories. One was extremely gross, one was confusing as all get out, one was suspenseful, intriguing and thrilling, and one was predictable, through interesting. The running critique offered by my wife and I as we drove was, by far, the most enjoyable aspect.
Still, it kept us awake and on the road; the two most important performance metrics for our audio books!

Dear Stephen King,
You can be scary without being sexual or disgusting. Just FYI. Maybe try it sometime.
Love,
Me
(Overall, not bad. Interesting and definitely gave me a few chills sometimes - but I give that mostly to the narrators rather than the words themselves. Every single story - every one - fell flat at the end. But that's a risk you take with short stories, too.)

'You Know They Got a Hell of a Band' (read by Grace Slick) is one of the finest short stories I've ever read/listened to (both). It's creepy and scary only in the sense that when you picture yourself in that situation you know you really don't ever want to be in it.
Also, 'The Night Flier' was creepy and gross and fantastic.
