I was quite happy to find this book, a sequel to Little Blue Truck which is very popular here. This one follows the same kind of pattern, involving Little Blue helping someone else and saving the day with his good manners and considerateness.

He's in the big city, which has something of a 30s look to it, and completely overwhelmed and amazed at how big and fast and rather scary it is. The other vehicles on the road are all so impatient and bossy and soon a traffic jam ensues, and the mayor's lim...more

This Little Blue truck is passed by and yelled at by bigger different types of cars, including a sweeper, taxi cab and a limo for going too slow. Will Little Blue Truck be passed by? My daughter loves the Pixar movie Cars. Loves it. So when I found this book about a little blue truck at our local library, I thought we'd give it a shot.

At first read, the angry expressions on the cars' faces made my daughter nervous, and I was worried she'd pick up on phrases like "shove on, shorty." But the second night we read it, she began asking who the various automobiles were. She learned taxi, double-decker bus, limousine, and street sweeper, and we both have a lot of fun making the va...more

I'm working on creating a booklist for my local public library. This book was one in consideration for this list.

This is going on my manners booklist. It follows a little blue truck on his slow journey through town, and how he teaches the other cars and people some manners and shows them how to respect one another by being himself and not caving to the pressure of those around him. A wonderful book for children. Also, it's a boardbook, the first to be added to my list.

Little Blue Truck adventures into the big bad city in this follow up to the fun "Little Blue Truck." When Truck gets to the city it finds that traffic is horrible. All of the other vehicles are pushy and rude.

When the Limousine with the mayor inside breaks down, Truck offers to get the mayor to his destination by taking turns. Everyone agrees and life moves on.

A fun one for storytime as children will enjoy getting the change to say "Zoom!!" with the reader.

This is a story about a slow little truck who goes to the big city. The truck is dismayed to find out how busy everyone is and in SUCH a hurry. Many of the vehicles are not very polite about waiting in line. It has some great onomatopoeia (all those great car sounds!). The pictures are adorable and that great message of being kind and waiting your turn is pretty awesome!

I would have adored this book as a youngster. I loved the whole "inanimate objects with lives of their own" genre ("Susie the Little Blue Coupe" and "The Brave Little Toaster" were favorites), and this book provides plenty of sentient cars and trucks. Best of all, the art is done in a cool retro style that recreates picture books of the 1950s and early 1960s.

I think the kids enjoyed the first one a bit better cause of the animals. This one was still very enjoyable the pictures are amazing and the details are great. The boys loved looking for all the different things. The people in the windows etc. Little blue truck is always so nice and polite and that is a great lesson taught.

My 1 year old and I loved the first Little Blue Truck book so much that I was delighted to find the sequel. Not as much fun to read aloud as with the farm animals, but the theme and illustrations are wonderful. I get a big kick out of telling my toddler to "Shove on, shorty"!

The long-anticipated sequel in the Little Blue Truck series. Blue goes to the big city. Not as many cute sounds and word play, but it's fun to "find Blue" amidst all the traffic. Also another good message about waiting for your turn and not letting pandemonium rule.
Kristen
I enjoyed the rhyme scheme and the overall theme of cooperation. It's a bit long for toddler time, possibly--might be better for preschoolers. Although I have a lot of vehicle-loving toddlers so it went over pretty well!
Kim
I haven't read the first Little Blue Truck book, maybe that would make me appreciate this one better. Shows an unfriendly city and talks about taking things a little slower, but ultimately not a lot happens in a lot of words.
Nicole
Cute board book about a little blue truck. In this book he gets tangled up in the big city and helps others get in line.

Has great rhyming lines as well as creative text fonts to show expression.

Little country blue truck goes to the big city, which isn't very friendly. When a snooty limo breaks down, his very important passenger takes a ride from Little Blue Truck.
Leah
It was a cute book about the little blue truck who comes to the not so nice big city. Helps kids understand the concept of working together & waiting their turn.

A fun follow up to the original Little Blue Truck, though perhaps a bit long for very small children. My son loved the pictures, but he had trouble staying focused near the end.

My little nephew lives in the country and this is just a great story. I love the illustrations and the storyline is so cute. He loved the colors. Good stuff.

This book is hands down my 18 month old sons favorite. He loves making the noise of the police car and ask us to read it to him every night!

Another great children's book... wonderful opportunity to make fun sounds and very nice pictures to go along with a nice story about taking turns.

Little blue truck returns for adventure in the city. Rhyming text tells the story as the truck rescues the mayor from a broken down limo.
Amber Hartley
I love these little blue trucks books. They have great pictures and mottos. This one describes how I feel in cities.

For all the truck and car lover in the elementary set. Little Blue must learn to navigate in the busy city. P.K.

I love this book. My son loves this book. The words flow, the pictures are fun, and it has a cute lesson as well.
Angelina
I still love the character and colors, but this book is too busy and abstract in comparison to the first book.
Kim
Cute rhyme abut a little blue country truck being overwhelmed in the city, until he helps out in a traffic jam.
