This is an excellent introduction to the world of managing software development. The book claims to be oriented towards CIO/CTO types, but the advice therein can apply to all management levels.

There's very little said about technical specifics, such as Scrum vs. Agile, which I see as a benefit. Instead, the book discusses what to do when the CEO wants you to implement a software process he found on the web. In general, it focus on how best to deal with others, and gives good advice.
