This guy can write some beautiful stories. No matter the subject, these story deliver with a superb use of language.
Sheer, taut, philosophical stories. I felt like a smarter version of myself when I read Matt Bell's stories. They're cerebral and visceral, a tough combo to pull off.
this is the best story collection i've read in a while.
See my review at seanlovelace.com. This book rocks it.
Great collection of flash fiction.
This is my favorite of Bell's chapbooks. Wolf Parts and The Collectors are both strong set pieces but the depth he achieves in these flash fictions is stunning at times and so much more rewarding to me as reader than the novellas.
Really looking forward to How They Were Found now.
Favorites here were "Excerpt from Volume H-Hn: Hair Boxes," and "Ten Scenes from a Movie Called Mercy."
