Lindy Kelly is an experienced eventing rider in New Zealand and she's taken the idea of write what you know to heart. BOLD BLOOD is set deep in the world of horse eventing - although for the author's sake, you have to hope that some of the action in this book is made up!

Dr Caitlin Summerfield was raised with horses. By a mother that she most definitely does not get on with, who she still blames for the premature death of the father and brother she adored. Called back to the family farm after her

Horse-loving journalist, poet and children’s author Lindy Kelly adopts the old adage, ‘write what you know’, with her crime debut Bold Blood, parlaying her youthful experience as an international eventing rider into a suspense tale set amongst the stables, saddles and sorrels of the New Zealand equestrian world.

Dr Caitlin Summerfield is happily living a hectic Wellington lifestyle, accessorised with overseas travel and a rich boyfriend. Her rural Nelson childhood has been left far behind, along

Nice to have a decent horse book!

Not badly written, but not groundbreaking, however it was enough to keep the pages turning and 'ooh just one more chapter then ill go...'

The murder and suspense kept you going, and it wasn't immediately obvious who the baddie was (view spoiler)

She definitely knows about horses, and I did wonder a few times what her real relationship with her mother was!

Nothing ground-breaking here. The writing is so-so and there are a few subplots which I think are meant to divert the reader's attention from the mystery, but are just confusing and irrelevant.

The 15 year old horse lover will love this. It's James Patterson meets Christine Pullein-Thompson.

Good thriller, particularly for anyone interested in horses. The detail of the care and problems with horse training is superb.
