Oh, these books are so delightfully fun! What's not to like about an adventure to save the city of Paris which is undertaken by the owner of a shop which sells 'incredible edibles', a trusting young girl and a cat named Camembert? There are also a few dinosaurs thrown in for good measure. The story carries on delightfully from the first book in the series, and I can't wait to see where the third book takes these eccentric and rather loveable characters.
I love the Madame Pamplemousse series! I cannot wait to read the next. I loved that Rupert really continues the story of the mysterious characters of Madame Pamplemousse, Camembert, and the normal girl Madeline but, I also love how he added in another cafe/shop to the story without forgetting the first.

He also loved American horror comics and French cartoon books such as Asterix and Tintin. It was on a family holiday to Paris that he visited a bookshop dedicated to books such as Tintin – and also ate anchovies for...more
