a well-written biography of an iraqi born in karbala and witness to most of the recent politics of the country (from the establishment of king faisal to the removal of saddam)
i liked it for its insight into the everyday life of karbala and the great quotes used to demarcate sections in the narrative

This is a very delightful memoir, deeply spiritual without a speck of religiosity or politics.
what a good read, one of those you cannnot put down
Autobiographical journey of Sh Fadhlalla's life from his childhood in Karbala to his travels around the world in search of a purpose. Would make a very nostalgic read for Iraqi baby boomers.
