The oddest thing about this book is that the blurb on the back that describes the plot is completely wrong. Apparently somebody wrote the description without actually reading the book. Best friends Lark and Kenya along with Kenya's little brother Eric and Eric's friend, a famous rapper named Fiasco, all spend the summer before Lark and Kenya leave for college learning more about the hidden secrets in each other's lives.
Pretty easy read, but the character Kenya was so annoying the way she broke up with her boyfriend, and then expected him to mope around about her forever while she was at college admiring other guys herself...I used to totally be into these Kimani Tru books, but I guessed I kind of grew out of the drama that seems to perpetuate around these characters' lives.
THIS BOOK IS ABOUT A GIRL AND SHE IS GOING TO COLLEGE AND HER PARENTS THINK ITS A BIG DEAL ,BUT SHE DONT. HER BOYFRIEND IS ON CAMPUS WITH HER.SHE IS IN A SINGING AND DANCING GROUP.NOW THAT SHE IN COLLEGE SHE IS BEING STUCK UP. BUT HER BROTHER AND HIS FRIEND GOT PUT IN JAIL AND SHE HAD TO BUND THEM OUT BUT IS TOO IN HER FABULUS LIFE TO CARE.
this was a good book because young teens can relate to this.This also was a good book because it takes the reader into the world of a young teen girl and how she faces difficulty in friends,familey and relationships.
This was one of the best books I have read. I absolutely love the Tru series books.

Phillip Thomas Duck is the author of several traditionally published adult and young adult novels.
